It wasn't a "look". Yeah I saw the hit to Mahomes, refs should have called that. I've also seen some face mask and some holds by the Chiefs Defense not being called.

Well Mahomes is still young and most likely will be back to the superbowl. Though he needs to stop making those state farm commercials.

It looked to me for a good portion of the first half that the Chiefs were playing with the concept of "if you foul on every play they won't call them" lol

Game Day!!!

Can't wait!

Where's all your pics?

Super Bowl LV -- Chiefs 33, Bucs 27. Brady's Bucs stay with KC through the 3rd, get to Mahomes, and maybe turn the ball over but KC's perimeter players will get in the end zone and eat up chunks of yardage. Mahomes wins the MVP and caps the greatest 1st 3 years any QB has had in the Super Bowl era.

(and yes, Batman, I don't want those PP problems by picking TB)

That was a big nothing. Turned it off after Mahomes' INT in the 3rd

The officiating was awfully one-sided. But Bienemy and Reid had no answers for Todd Bowles' defense, and dumb penalties ended KC's run for the second time in 3 seasons. We saw Bad Andy Reid as well, calling that TO at the end of the 1st giving time to TB to draw a big PI and set up what in hindsight was an insurmountable lead.

Fair warning: I'm soap boxing. Nothing personal, I'm just so over the one-sided penatly narrative already. It's a majority of what people are talking about and it's nonsense.

It's professional sports. In all pro sports you're supposed to be the absolute best of the best at what you do. If you see the officials are calling something tight, stop doing that that thing.

Regardless of that, that's how the Chiefs play. Either Romo or Nance commented on that after the first penalty of the game. So when the officials are calling it tight, step it back a notch.

The offsides call for a neutral zone infraction that gave the Bucs a first down? There was TWO guys in the neutral zone, both ends. lol They were trying to play on the edge and they were pushing it too far. Professional athletes don't make those decisions on their own. That's coaching. That's game plan.

I watched the entire game, unlike many people who claim they stopped watching, and the only weak call was the one where ol' buddy got in Brady's face then Brady went after him and they didn't get called for offsetting personal fouls. That one wouldn't have made any difference in the score and gave no advantage. The Bucs still had to keep getting first downs to score the touchdown. The Chiefs couldn't stop them.

None of that has anything to do with the fact that the Bucs ran it down the Chiefs throat all night. The Chiefs defensive line could not stop the Bucs run even though they knew that was part of their game plan.

None of that has anything to do with the Chiefs offensive line not being able to stop Mahomes from getting chased around like he was playing keepaway all night. That was one of the worst offensive line performances I've ever seen in a Super Bowl.

None of that has anything to do with the Chiefs receivers dropping pass after pass after pass. They could have scored at least two touchdowns AND kept multiple drives going if they had just caught the ball. Particularly the drop at the beginning of the third quarter, which would have essentially leveled the game and made the Bucs have to tighten up their defense instead of that prevent pass coverage. Even in the fourth quarter they had a chance to score and make it interestings, dropped the ball.

Even with the Bucs playing prevent defense with their pass coverage 20-30 yards down the field the Chiefs couldn't get first downs. The game was never out of reach. That's why you didn't see anybody celebrating on the Bucs sidelines untl under two minutes in the 4th when they got the ball back. Sports are weird, a touchdown, succesful onsides kick, an intercption of fumble recovery. The Chiefs were honestly never out of that game, they just couldn't do anything.

Also, the Chiefs couldn't get their running game going all night and seemingly stopped trying.

Andy Reid never changed his play calling and his play calling was boring from the jump (something that was already part of his legacy). He was depending on Mahomes to win the game and the Bucs were too good last night. I agree 100% it was Bad Andy Reid and it's going to be part of his legacy, because it's not the first time.

I understand the world is full of Brady haters and they want there to be a reason why the Bucs were able to destroy the Chiefs. The optics don't work here, though. Anybody who watched that game and didn't clearly see one team playing better than the other on all fronts need to get their eyes checked. lol

And please remember, I don't root for the Bucs. I would have been fine if the Chiefs won two in a row. I was never a Patriots fan either. I was going for Brady for no particular reason other than he IS the GOAT, I enjoy poking at my family for liking the Chiefs for no particular reason in 2021 and I think it's funny that people hate on Brady so much.

People mad because "the game was bad".... no it wasn't. If you were going for the Bucs it was a great game, because they destroyed the Chiefs on all fronts.

Tampa won the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball....that's it right there. They just out-physicaled KC.

As for Brady, I've seen QBs who've played the position better, so I'll put him fourth on my list.

No argument there if it was an individual sport. But it's a team sport and he makes his teams better. They won over and over with lesser talent (that they never kept) in New England. Can't really argue much with ten Super Bowls and seven rings.

Just for the sake of a talking point; it would be fun to see what Mahomes, Rodgers, Goff, Stafford (just throwing out names now) or whoever would have looked like in that game, or even this season with the Bucs, instead of Brady.

UMMM...at 1 point Brady chased Mathieu down, and got in his face....and there was no call against Brady, there was also no call against the Bucs when one of them punched Mahomes in the head.

Brady also expressed his desire to apologize in person in the future. He said his outbursts in an emotional moment were in no way a reflection on his feelings toward Mathieu, whom he spoke of highly throughout the week leading up to the game.

Mathieu explained his side of the altercation, saying in a since-deleted tweet that Brady started the verbal spat when he called Mathieu "something I won't repeat."

"He's clearly chasing me, but I got flagged," Mathieu said in another deleted tweet.

Look at the play again in this link.

Well Tampa's job was made much easier since Mahomes was without both his starting tackles.

I don't care who the qb is you lose both of your starters at tackle it's gonna hurt you. Mahomes

was scrambling damn near every play and sometimes the next man up just not good enough.

As for Brady yes he is the GOAT of his era even with the officiating being skewed to favor him.

He's certainly not the GOAT imo. Even with the 2 Super Bowl losses to Eli you can't lose one to the

backup qb Foles and be considered the GOAT. I also don't believe this guy was built to play in the 70's or 80's. He would have definitely got beat up by more physical defenders and defenses during that time. If you could hypothetically have had Marino and Brady in the same draft I'm taking Marino all day.

lol I'm old enough to have watched about 15 straight Super Bowls that looked just like this one.

I don't take it personally because . . . of what I actually said above? My 2 sentences bolded above align with the 10 paragraphs you wrote in reply.

A lopsided game can occur regardless of the quality of the officiating and it so happened on Sunday that both the Chiefs and the refs were bad.

You're lucky I didn't write twenty paragraphs.

Disagree. There was nothing wrong with the officiating. The Chiefs were playing on the edge and they got popped. Like, every call is reviewed afterwards by the NFL. Nothing egregious, just the Chiefs pushing it too far and not pulling it back when they started getting called for penatlies.
