Does anyone feel like this seems to reflect the climate change issues we face? I mean, every nation has a bunch of infighting, along with fighting each other for some ultimate power and control, all of which is important but coming over the horizon is this bigger looming issue that'll screw us all. Hopefully somebody's got some fire-breathing dragons in tow for us.

I think the White Walkers could be interpreted as an allegory for climate change.

When we reach the tipping point, Mother Nature could turn into the Night King.

Ah, environmental themes a la Lord of the Rings.

There are Wars to Come --

wars within the houses (Stark, Lannister and Greyjoy)

the wars for Westeros (Lannister-Stark-Targaryen)

and of course, the War Against Humanity (Night King v. The World)

That's going to take a lot of time and a lot of action to play out. I for one am glad they/re taking 2 more seasons to do it. There are way too many loose ends to tie up before the show ends.

[Edited 7/4/17 16:47pm]

Yes, true. It's hard not having any idea how any of this may play out since there are so many things at play. Grandma Flowers wants her revenge on Cersi, Little Finger wants the throne and Sansa, so there are even smaller games at play that could upset a lot of things. And what's Sam contribution to all of this? You know it's got to be crucial.

"Grandma Flowers" . . . love that! Truly a ton of moving parts to begin the season, but that's par for the course for Thrones.

Also . . .

Arya may have tipped other scales in favor of her siblings without knowing it. She took out House Frey by herself. That leaves Houses Frey and Tully open to annexation by the new King of the North (or Edmure).

I refuse to believe Blackfish is dead until I see his body. His men could have easily lied to Walder and Jaime.

Arya, Jon, Sansa and Bran need to have one more time together even if it's the last time they'll see each other. I need that.

You've got Frey, Tulley and Baratheon houses all fallen, and these were all crucial long standing houses in the scheme of things. Isn't the Bolton house gone too?

I think we're going to get 3 of the 4 together at some point because Arya's killing her way to Winterfell.

The Frey and Tully armies should be pretty much intact. Edmure could conceivably take it all and get in the Game himself. Here's how: he's STILL married to Walder's oldest daughters. The other marriage-eligible daughter was married to Roose Bolton until she became fodder for Ramsay's dogs. He can claim it all if he gets out of the dungeon.

Okay, I guess there are enough dangling pieces to work from to fill the rest of the series out. You still have Robert's son wondering around somewhere. Another Red Priestess to stir up mess. And the mystery of Arya's wolf, which I think will get cut from the tv series anyway, but I'm hoping.

So Dany and Yara are on the same page to invade the Iron Isles first?

Yes. That was the deal they shook on. And She can launch her attack from there. (She will need to supplies to finish her journey.)

Rumour has it that someone(a familiar character) gets killed off again. Perhaps Sansa? Or Dany? (She could be brought back to life. After all she is the only central character in a main story line through out a season to not be killed off.)

Thanks for clearing that up. I missed that even after binging S6 over the holiday. doh!

I have an idea on who the next victim is, because apparently a promo photo contained a small clue that could be a huge spoiler, but I won't go into it here.

You sure we're counting Jaime there? He didn't look too happy when he got back to King's Landing. He slayed the last occupant of the Iron Throne who tried to burn down the Sept (Aerys Targaryen). And Cersei actually did it. They may be in for a Romeo and Juliet ending (not good).

Dorne, too -- Ellaria and the Sand Snakes run the place now and are united with House Tyrell to destroy the Lannisters.

Jon Snow, loyal to him, Davos Seaworth, Tormand Giantsbane (leader of the Free Folk) Lyanna Mormont (Lady of Bear Island)

I agree you have to presume that there will be factions in the North.

Bran is at weirwood tree: hopefully the Night King's mark on Bran doesn't dissolve the spells in the Wall when Bran gets to Castle Black.

Sam is in oldtown: hopefully finding a way to fight the Walkers.

Gendry was last seen rowing a boat: And may end up winning the Game by default.

Arya is searching for revenge: She got quite a bit of it -- Trant and the Freys gone. But she's aiming for more. She may not even realize at this point she did Jon a huge solid.

Euron Greyjoy: The rumored other "Big Bad" of S7.

Sandor "The Hound" is traveling wit an outlaw group: Brotherhood Without Banners, who'll be seen North of the Wall.

Meliandre has been banished: And a free agent!

Jorah Moremont is searching for a cure for greyscale: If he goes back to Old Valyria he may find a stash of steel that could kill the White Walkers. Maybe he encounters Quaithe, the veiled woman he ran into in Qarth, who seemed to know a lot.

Aw ok, I was wondering where Dany was going to land.

Dragonstone is the castle that stands upon the eponymous island located in Blackwater Bay. It is the ancestral seat of House Targaryen and was the stronghold of a cadet branch of House Baratheon.
At the time the series begins, it is held for King Robert Baratheon by his brother, Lord Stannis. The Chamber of the Painted Table is inside the castle. The castle was built using advanced Valyrian stonemasonry techniques, long since lost.[1] As a result it has many exotic features unique in all of Westeros, including massive dragon-shaped gargoyles. The entire castle is dominated by dragon motifs and reliefs.

One thing you could do is rewatch the last 2 episodes of seasons 1-4 and the last 3 episodes of seasons 5 and 6. That's a great refresher.
