Her (2013) - A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need.

I'd give it a perfect rating except I felt some scenes were uncomfortable because of what could be interpreted as an absurd premise--which I'm sure was intentional. star star star star 1/2 (out of five)

So is this film, like, a longer version of the video for Kate Bush's 'Deeper Understanding'??

I haven't seen Kate's video so I can't say. I will get back to you on that.

Rear Window (1954) - A wheelchair bound photographer spies on his neighbours from his apartment window and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder.

Another one I saw for the first time on the big screen. It was a lot of fun. star star star star 1/2

'Twas on cable. Had a few laughs. shrug Expected more, due to the critical acclaim. Jonah Hill is always likable, for me.

I rent movies in blocks from Red Box so here is my list.

Riddick 2/5 I like Vin in this character but someone needs to write around his inability to act. I believe they could have a good franchise going if someone realizes that.

Blue Jasmine 4/5 I too thought the ending was lackluster.....Cate is good but winning the Oscar meh...

Nebraska 5/5 I loved everything and everyone in this movie.

Captaiin Phillips 5/5 Tom Hanks made you believe he REALLY was on that ship.

Thor 2 1/5 I'm waiting on a Loki film....(I know it is not going to happen) I love that actor, he is excellent as Loki...Chris on the other hand ...ugh...I only watched to keep up with all of the Super Hero movies

The Butler 5/5 Forrest is AMAZING! Oprah and the rest of the cast was amazing and Cuba was hilarious.

The Best Man Holiday 5/5 For a sequel/ followup to happen so many years apart, they did an EXCELLENT job with this one. Everyone looked amazing, no shortage of eye candy for anyone!

Closed Circuit 4/5 Short by one star IMO because I anticipated something differant from the ending. I love Eric Bana and wish he had more roles. A lot of twist which kept my interest.

Fruitvale Station 5/5 Some may think that is a strong rating BUT for me this whole movie hit home for me. I had never even knew this happen which is sad because its so common SMH.

Carrie (UMM remake overload) 0/5 Sissy has that on lock...leave it be! What a waste of $1.29

I'm about to watch Dallas Buyers Club and Catching Fire today and will add my 2 cents later.

Anchorman 2........ 2.5 / 10 Very poor. Wasn't a lover of Part 1 but the jokes were weak and they were just trying too hard to be wacky.

Zero theorem

Just great, unfortunately I saw it alone in the cinema and a very limited release in Ireland so box office wise it might not make much but it is another Terry Gilliam classic.

Sunset Blvd. (1950) - A hack screenwriter writes a screenplay for a former silent-film star who has faded into Hollywood obscurity.

There are so many classic lines. "I am big. It's the pictures that got small." Haha. star star star star 1/2

I am such a huge Cillian Murphy fan and he is amazing in this 2010 film. It veers into PSYCHO territory but seems even more disturbing because of the 'normalcy' of the small town and the era. Apparently it went straight to video. sad

star star star 1/2 I loved this. heart Not the usual tired stuff...

Byzantium is a connoisseur's vampire film; a vintage red.

Caleb Landry Jones is my new pervy crush...although hs IS 24 so I'm not a complete perv.

BYZANTIUM (2013) is director Neil Jordan's (Interview with the Vampire, The Crying Game) sexy and stylish fantasy thriller about mother and daughter vampires dealing with the pitfalls of eternal life. Two mysterious women seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort. Clara (Gemma Arterton) meets lonely Noel (Daniel Mays), who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse, Byzantium. Schoolgirl Eleanor (Saoirse Ronan, Hanna, Atonement) befriends Frank (Caleb Landry Jones) and tells him their lethal secret: They were born 200 years ago and survive on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them with deathly consequence. Also starring Sam Riley and Jonny Lee Miller.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower:

Didn't live up to the reviews (well, most of the reviews, anyway - some of them hit the nail right on the head).

Some cliches. A tad melodramatic. Weak performances from the lead guy and Emma Watson. The other guy in the poster was good (as was Paul Rudd).

I did like the casting of several "average"-looking kids as part of their circle of friends and there were some good things about the flick.

I mean, don't get me wrong - it wasn't horrible.

Vertigo (1958) - A retired San Francisco detective suffering from acrophobia investigates the strange activities of an old friend's wife, all the while becoming dangerously obsessed with her.

It's very good, but I'm surprised this was voted the best film of all time on the last Sight & Sound movie poll. star star star star

I went to school in Pittsburgh around the same time as the movie took place so it very much resonated with me. I agree that Ezra Miller who played Patrick was a highlight.

A tale about a 10 year-old girl who looks like a boy, and acts like one. Short but very fun and coherent.

Ok lol I've never been a huge fan of Leo anyway. I think I only saw him in Titanic. boxed

I hate Wall St movies just like I hate mafia movies. Real life crime movies where innocent people get screwed make me pissed off and mad for a week. mad I have never seen even one Godfather movie. Not a single Wall St movie ever made. Give me some ghosts and demons and vampires...you know...things that don't exist and I'm good! thumbs up! lol

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) - The adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.

This is one of the most impeccably art-directed films I've ever seen. The visual symmetry is overwhelming--right down to the use of a 1.37:1 pillar box frame to make many shots look more perfect. This is my favorite movie of 2014 so far. star star star star star

I watched "Escape Plan" on the plane to Germany. So whie I watched this on a little screen...

THIS MOVIE STARS STALLONE AND ARNOLD.

That said, it was just ok. Could have used a lot more butt-kicking. I'd expand on that but I'm typing this on my phone and it's too much work.

I just watched American Hustle. I liked it a lot, but I do think it was a bit overhyped. The acting was very good, but the storyline had a few weak spots.

I give it a 7/10.
