Today was a heavy lower body workout day, so I pushed myself on the leg press. Did three reps with 16 45lb plates (8 on each side).

I've been going to the gym 3 times a week regularly again. It's my stress relief lol Anyway, I went a little too hard with the squats on Sunday and I'm still suffering neutral

Wow! That is incredible. If I did the math right, that's at least 720 pounds!

I do lunges a couple times a week and hate every single rep. I can guarantee the board that there will never, ever be a Summer of Big Legs in my future.

720 plus the weight of the press - not sure how much that is. One of the trainers said I'm one of 6 members(including one woman) who does 7 or more plates on the press. On front hack squats, my max is 10 45lb. plates on each side, 6 on each side for back hack squats. Regular squats my max was 405, but I had to cut back because of knee pain. The most I'll do now is 315. On deadlifts I banged out one rep at 350 yesterday.

Heavy leg/lower back work ain't fun, but it has to be done. You want your lower body to be as developed as the upper body. That's where all your power is. When I lift shit, my legs do all the work. So I encourage you to slowly ease into heavy legwork. You'll be amazed at how much it helps in everyday life (doing manual labor, playing recreational sports, biking, etc.)

You want to get mad strong, eat lots of good stuff and follow Dr. Layne Norton's suggestions on weight-training. Once I started following his advice, it took my workouts to a whole new level.

Remember it's about strength, not necessarily size. There are cats at my gym who weigh less than me(I'm only 192), but are WAYYY stronger. It's incredible what they can do.
