Late catching RHoNY and the girls returning from Morocco, but here it is:
1. Sonja cropping Cindy out of all of the Morocco photos is trifling as hell. Somebody please teach this heffa "The Golden Rule".
2. Jill was right not to invite Ramona to her focus group just as a defensive protection tactic. There is some truth to what she said about the Kodak people dumping her for an endorsement deal (though the figure is up for debate), but the point is; once bitten, twice shy- handle your business and don't let your ill mannered friends jack up your money. Also, while her timing of bringing up Sonja's money woes was terrible, I think her heart was in the right place and she was just doing her yenta thing...not to mention she offered us every attorney member of her family to help Sonja if she needed it. Shooot, having friends with an arsenal of Jewish lawyers at your disposal is a blessing. Sonja betta recognize . Still I feel bad for Sonja. You cannot judge a person whose going through divorce and their life is turned upside down financially unless you've been there. I've been through divorce, and wouldn't wish that kind of havoc on anyone. I still think Sonja's a ho' though, and needs to cut back on the sex hormones she must be taking that makes her act like such an ass on national television.
3. Why was the majority of this episode a cheesy version of granny porn? Did we really need to see Ramona & Alex's crusty asses romping around in their drawers for their husbands??? Some things really need to stay private...for real, and for a reason. Lawd, when Ramona was asking if her awkward massage was getting Mario in the mood and he said that no, it was making him sleepy it was like watching a bad Geritol commercial. Alex and Simon. Ugh. Just nothing more than simply ugh.
4. Kelly's kids are cute. You can tell that they've grown up on film sets with their mom and dad.
5. Luann served Alex her ass on a plate at lunch. I'm really starting to get the feeling that Alex is pre-planning her behavior just to get screen time and keep herself relevant for the brand she's building with Simon (their books & so forth). Her outbursts and confrontations with the other girls this season have no rhyme or reason, and this acting oblivious to the fact that she's coming across as a busy body and pot stirrer is annoying. I know people take issue with Luann and her whole Countess schtick, but in this case I think she was justified ripping Alex a new butt and telling her to mind her business...and being a kid who grew up watching night time soap operas I'm glad she did it with a 1980's, Dynasty kinda flair

Agree. It's very high school and "cliquesh". These are grown women with children trying to hang in a circle.
About the RHWONJ: Most of these women are walking welfare checks, using the fact that they stay home and take care of the kids, as an excuse not to have a life/career of their own. They depend on their husbands too much to make a life for them. They'll probably wait until the kids grow up and leave home or when they get into a bad financial situation, to realize they should have thought about making a life on their own, besides depending on their husband's money/careers.
Also, why does Jacqueline always seem to have a cup or a piece of food to her mouth, everytime the camera's on her?
About the Mob Wives: Well, these women are just pathetic going after thugs/jailbirds to make a life for them.
To be honest, even though some of these programs are obnoxious and just good for passing time and a good laugh at times, I'm glad tv is a little more realistic than it was years ago, and we're seeing how people from all backgrounds behave. [Edited 6/20/11 6:58am]

Okay, just finished watching Mob Wives.....I got a serious problem with Drita's locked up husband teaching his daughter that "rats" are no good for anyone. Like really, can you think about telling her that you are locked up because of the bullshit that YOU did and that she shouldn't want to be like you but rather be better than you? I'm sorry but her husband is a real dickhead.
Oh my goodness, did any of you see the last scene where Drita is talking with Carla about Karen's book and she has this damn bruise around her neck? WTF was that about?
Okay hooray for Renee, finally she's seen the light that Junior was using her the whole time and kicked his ass out...with class. Good job Renee.
Okay so why the first half of the episode it appears that Drita and Karen are best friends again...until Karen asks Drita to read her first chapter of her book. If Drita didn't want to read it, then why take it and then talk shit to Carla about it? That didn't make sense to me at all. Then here is Karen's silly ass calling Drita off the chain wondering why she not getting any calls back. This is why I believe Drita talks a lot of shit but she not being real about how she really feels about stuff.
It was refreshing to see Renee have a civil talk with her son about leading a better life than his father and grandfather. Finally it seems that someone wants truly the best for their child on that show. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Okay just seen RHONJ and why does Melissa talk sideways? On one side she wants to make peace for her husband, the next minute she dogging Teresa. And another thing, why does she and Kathy suck Jacqueline and Caroline's asshole? It's like they are trying to force themselves into their circle but bash Teresa to no end. They are fuckin' posers to me. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I have mixed feelings about the stay at home mom thing. I mean, I know it's very uncommon in the States for wives to be stay at home moms but in Europe I'm discovering it's the opposite. Once you have kids here you're on maternity leave for at least two years, and they give economic incentives for the dads to stay home part time once the mom goes back to work if the children are still small)- because they want strong, healthy, familial bonds to help build up society. The idea is that strong families are the foundation for a strong, productive society, and many women even decide to be full time moms for the duration of their kids childhood if they can afford it. It's not only to be there for the nurturing of the children, but because the general populous embraces old fashioned values. women are encouraged to embrace home and hearth as the center of their lives and the most important contribution they can make to themselves and their family, and the lives they will have in the future. Outside of people in the fashion industry, everyone else I know that's had a child is at home on lockdown with their husband, bakin' cakes, and taking the occasional side job or at home employment for a lil' extra cash.
I find that people here in Germany are generally more "hobby crazy" as a whole, so once their kids are gone and they have the time, women seem to scoot their asses out of the nest and take up something to fill their time. I find in Italy (and your sister can probably attest to this), the entire center of life is based around La Mama. It's almost similar to some Asian cultures where the parent is put on a pedestal almost into a place of worship. So the center of everything revolves around the home that Mama creates to the point of making her a mythic figure. Things are changing now as more women dump that traditional role to do other things, but I can see how the women on RHoNJ are directly descended from the generation where the most important thing you could do in life was to be a model wife and mother. Most of these chicks are 40 and over with those older parents who probably lived very traditionally, so they passed it down. I have to say that I'm glad to see Teresa pluggin' along with her cookbooks, and I'm VERY happy to see Caroline step out of her shell and go for the radio show. I know she gets on everyone's nerves because she's always in angst about her kids leaving the nest, but that's just the way Italian women are with their kids, especially their sons. But for those who are used to traditional roles as the nurturing mother and stay at home wife, she can be a good example now of what to do when you hit the empty nest and you need to figure out what's next for your "third age". Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and find something where you feel you can be of value to others. Hell, Maria Shriver has had one of the most dynamic careers in the world, but in her last youtube video, even she had to ask "anybody else my age knows what they're going to do next...cause I DON'T"

I know she's supposed to be 30, but Melissa strikes me as young, and being wet behind the ears. She 's immature and loves to keep up shit. Point blank period.
Kathy I haven't figured out yet. On one hand I think that her busybody-ness comes from her wanting to play both sides of the fence so she's not excluded. I don't think she's backstabbing rather than she just wants to sit at the lunchtable with the popular girls, so she keeps dipping her hand here and there just to be noticed and well thought of. By nearly all accounts, Caroline has a good reputation and her husband is known as an upstanding citizen in their community. You know how some of these suburban chicks roll; even if they're doing okay on their own, they still need to be at the right church, attending the right social functions, and seen with the right people to reinforce their paradigm of what a successful life is in their Cul-de-Sac world.

Melissa does indeed come off as immature. What I found to be funny is that she was pushing her husband (who possesses some immaturity himself) to make peace with his sister but in the exact same breath, played up this "damsel in distress" role about how all she "supposedly" does is try to bring his family together but all they do is blame her for their distance and conflicts. So you want your husband to go be the bigger person yet at the same time, you giving him the rope for tug of war where you want to play the victim. I think Teresa called it when she said that it appeared that Melissa only married Joe for his money...though it does take two. I mean he did end up marrying the clueless broad.
As far as Kathy goes, she really turned me off when she showed up at Caroline's house trying to suck up by showing up with a whole bouquet of flowers that looked like she spend a pretty penny on just to get into her good graces. When she found that Caroline saw right through her act, then she wanted to act like she didn't need Caroline's "acceptance" I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Oh I agree about some women following the traditional values of their parents, I guess I go by my own mother's saying that "Even though you're married or a couple doesn't mean you're joined at the hip" and with that she always meant, don't give all of yourself away, save a little of yourself for you. My own mother stayed home for a while, off and on to work, then stayed home, until the youngest was in Kindergarten, and she kept working after that. So it was back and forth with my mom--stay home-then back to work. I guess I'm looking at it by today's economy and how it's harder for many women to stay home now, while their partner is the single bread winner. I came from traditional family values, and most of my childhood friends' mothers were stay-at-home moms, and were involved in community programs while their husbands were at work. All your neighbors looked out for you, and helped one another if one parent had to step out and go food shopping and run other errands, while the fathers were at work.
As far as when my sister lived in Italy for awhile, you're correct, I remember her telling me about the traditional ways of Italian families she encountered and the culture.
I just feel that all women should be prepared with some type of skill/education they can fall back on if something happens to their partner or they end up in divorce. I was raised to be independent no matter what relationship I'm in. It pays off in the end, and I do agree if there was a way more American women can take time off from work to raise/be with their kids or are able to stay home with them for a longer period of time, then I think we'd have less problems with many of our youth, who often end up falling prey to some of society's bad elements, when parent(s) are still at work 3 and 4 hours after their kids are home from school, especially teenagers.
You have some parents who give their kids some afterschool responsibilities, but often times they're not at home to enforce them, when one or both parents are at work. It's even harder these days, with the high number of single/separated/divorced parents in America. Back in my day, a village helped to raise a child, these days many don't communicate or know who their neighbors are let alone trust them so easily. . So that is what I meant when I see some of these housewives on tv, whose full-time job is taking care of their kids/husbands, and not really having much "me" time for themselves, as when they later face financial difficulties are scampering to find ways to help out. I do agree with you about Teresa, and how she used her cooking skills to market it and get a book out on it. Also, although I don't care that much for Carolyn, it's good to see she's searching her soul/talents and putting them into action.

Agree with all of this.
There's nothing wrong with being a model wife and mother. I actually think that Alexis on RHOOC attempts this but I guess her addiction to plastic surgery overshines her capabilities and a wife and mommy.
Here in the states...well... lets be real....women can't be stay at home moms as a common practice cuz the men aint shit. Well most of them anyway. Takes two to make that traditional family unit work and if dad isn't trying to be the breadwinner and mom isn't trying to be the model wife then it pretty much goes kaput. minus one penny.
