Seriously?

Watches do not indicate an imminent threat. There is absolutely no reason to post something like that here.

they most certainly indicate favorable conditions for an imminent threat. Technically, a warning isn't put into effect until one is spotted.

Why shit on this, G? rolleyes

Y'know what...you're right. Next time there's a weather watch where I live...or a levee about to break with widespread flooding (as happened in Portage a couple days ago), I'll be alllllll over it.

And everyone who doesn't live here (which is pretty much everyone) will get to hear about it, too. Because I know they're all interested. smile

Oh - and I know what a tornado watch is for. My first career was in weather. Which is why I think it's ridiculous to post something like this on a global message board.

well, thank you for explaining why you shit on it.

what makes you the defacto judge on what threads to start G?

are you fucking kidding me, you just started an equally useless thread that could have been done via orgnote. rolleyes

I'll be sure to tell whoever decides to start a thread about soil whether it's important or not because I'm in geotechnical engineering.

Come down off your high horse sometimes, fuck. rolleyes

Btw, there are plenty members in the tristate area here.

The point of my post was to warn those others, that might live in the areas that were on the list. It might not have effected everyone, but you never know.

Damn. Lots of hating going on here.

whofarted

If I come across a thread titled "Tornado watch for Paris" or "Tsunami warning for Venice" and I couldn't care less about it, then I simply WON'T CLICK ON IT.

shrug

But Shorttrini, THANK YOU. I live/work in Nassau County and I had no clue that it was a consideration (the morning weather made no mention of anyhting of the sort).

...going to weather.com now...

You are right Jersey.....most if not all of the threads here on the ORG are specific to a smaller group and not ALL ORG members. So with Genesia's logic, no one should post here at all on a GLOBAL message board unless the sun is going to explode or an asteroid is going to hit the Earth.

Thanks for the head's up shorttrini, I'm in NYC and didn't know the weather was supposed to be that crazy today. (I always remember the difference between "watch" and "warning" by remembering the "r" in warning means run for shelter. lol)

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Really??? Living here in "Tornado Alley" I don't think of NYC as a place that would have a tornado. Is this common?
