"The Hours". Saw the film in theatres. I was bawling.. it was a mixture of elements that caused such a reaction. The story was very relatable coupled with the depression I was feeling deeply. Could not help it.

Haven't seen it since. Feel like once was enough.

Has anyone seen this collection of short films called "Subway Stories - Tales from the underground"? The part where the young woman is talking to her mother on the phone and starts to sing with sax player Kenny Garrett in the background... That gets me every time.

I'm a big ol' crybaby when it comes to a good romance film or drama. I can't believe I cried when I went to see "The Princess and the Frog" a few months ago. Wiping my eyes at the end and everyting...OMG. I don't feel so bad because I know some that cried during "The Lion King." lol
I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

I cry at movies, tv, books, music, all of it. The mere thought of a song can start the tears rolling down my face.

Any kind of overwhelming emotion is going to come out of my eyes. Happy, sad, whatever. I’m a sensitive soul,
I guess. That and I’m often hormonal. I take after my mom this way.

I'm usually not a "crier" at movies but I cried on "The Sixth Sense" because around that time, my father passed away and I wished so badly that I had a sixth sense to communicate with him. I cried on "The Bucket List" because my father passed away from cancer and I knew how the families felt in the movie. I wanted to cry on "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" but only a tear was shed at the end when he died. Oh I cried on "Rocky IV" too when Apollo Creed died. lol

OMG, yes!
The scene where his mum buts a cap in all the other elephant's asses over teasing Dumbo and goes all Niomi Campbell on the audience and gets locked away in chains...
well, that scene that follows were Dumbo finds here tares me the fuck up! lol

If you've ever been bullied for something about yourself, I just find it really hard not to connect with Dumbo. sad

I'm sooooo purse

OMG!!!!! cry

To top it off I saw this with another movie. It was a short before DUMBO started. It was about some wolves or something. It was called LOBO. My cousins never let me live that one down. I was unconsolable. Mind you, I was 6 or 7 years old.

Yes, the Bronx is brilliant too. I noticed she looked familiar but I just couldn't think of why, thanks!

Just watch Up this weekend and yes that montage of Carl and Ellie's married life (bookended by his wild-eyed childhood innocence and the adventure that followed was just sad ). Add that to my list! lol
Just somewhere in the middle,

lol I dunno I thought it added to Carl's character in an effective way (cue Team America song - "we need a montage!" ). It demonstrated how life just can pass you by sometimes without you noticing some of your dreams have not been achieved (the smashing of the money jar each time some unexpected cost came up). It kind of struck a chord with me but then I am going through the whol mid-life crisis thing, and then to see characters not being able to have kids but still stick together to the end and have a happy life in spite of it all. made me feel bad and guilty all at once. Plus it made me think I don't want to get old and have any regrets. Man! cry lol

I agree with you that it IS a much needed dimension for a character of advanced age, you kind of do need to know the back-story to explain WHY he is so grouchy now, but my kids (boys, by the way) didn't pay so much attention to that part and when I asked them about how they had interpreted that part they didn't really know what had happened rolleyes wasted on them!!

It was alarming how fast a life went too, seeing it like that in a 4 minute montage eek
