Another question:

when you do a reading, do you incorporate ideas and concepts you've gained from other decks? For example, on my first deck, the empress is depicted as having plants for arms. Flowers are growing as her limbs. On another deck, the Empress is depicted as a strong ruling character, but sans foliage.

When working with the deck without the foliage for arms, would it make sense to incorporate some of the ideas I gained from that specific card with the flower arms or am I supposed to stick solely to the imagery and ideas presented on one specific deck alone?

I loved the idea of growth from within that wasn't detached but was connected intrinsicly to the person. That is what I got from the Empress from the first deck. I like the idea of buiding on that to interpret this other card to fuller effect.

Do you understand my question or am I babbling here? lol
[Edited 9/1/09 11:35am]

Oh I think I understand, yes

Sometimes I pull all the info I have on a card ( and even go looking for more ) and sometimes I just stick to what that deck says - often times it depends on the person the card is for ~ some like direct info and some are open to different sources

nod

again, it's one of those "what feels right and best for you and the person receiving the reading" things ...

So all my questions are basically unconfirmed lurking I guess you're saying it's like a jedi. you can't teach how to use the force, you just know it lol

What I see in future readings, is a pre-interview to understand what the person is seeking and have multiple decks for them to choose from. Of course, I could see choosing a deck specifically and not offering the choice but still I would know this from my intuition like I'm knowing everything else nod

Honestly, even with my intuition and gifts I truly am amazed how I'm connecting with the tarot. Such a mysterious thing for me, for many many years, is coming extremely clear and quickly. I cannot wait til I know these cards by heart.

Well everything I learned and know about the cards ( and continue to learn ) I did on my own. I started at about 12-13 or so

I have/had no teacher really and I may be going about it all "wrong" in some Pro's eyes but I am really not concerned with their opinions on how the cards speak/work with me

it works for me ~ it works for those I pull for shrug I go by intuition and instinct

I was watching someone channeling an entity....and he said that we are all magicians....not the Harry Potter kind, but we are able to control our lives or get what we want...something like that. He said every time we are stuck in life...just think the word magician.

Last night I was telling my brother about my deck and my nephews were listening. when my brother left, my middle nephew was asking me about the cards and what was on them and I explained how the cards are separated into 5 groups and that the first group has 22 cards, which includes the Zero card.

for some reason he was drawn to The Fool and said "pick that card for me!"

I grabbed a portion of the deck, flipped it over and the card that was there:

THE FOOL

eek I really shouldn't be surprised or taken aback but it startled me that I actually did that! lol

People ask me often to pulld them a card ~

then sometimes they want to put "that one" back and get another

so I put it back - mix the cards up - let them cut them several times and BAM - same card comes right back to them lol

exclaim

I told the story to my co-worker about the zero card and I had the deck in my hand because I was just showing him the cards and as I was telling the story I just cut the deck in half so each hand had part of the deck, but not really realizing I did it. It was just automatic. when I looked down at where I had cut the deck the Zero/Fool card was RIGHT THERE! biggrin

I guess I can see how that would help maybe but honestly, I think it would be scary for me because if this is happening while lucid and sober, what the hell would happen in that other scenario question exclaim boxed

well I've always had this stuff inside me ever since I was a kid. I've only been acknowleding and cultivating it in the last 3 years instead of running from it like I used to.

I have people in my life that are pushing me to use elements and objects and things with my gifts and right now I don't feel comfortable with that. I have been able to understand and explore my gifts without outside influences and I would rather keep it that way.

People depending on Tarot Readings with their lives have no faith inside themselves and usually are the weak minded ones. When a person want to succeed with its life then it means extra hard work and patience. In the end that person can look back with its success of honesty and pride. Faith comes from within and not from a bunch of cards with cartoon pictures.
