Cheating is no reason to BREAK UP...IS IT??

I mean...so many people put so much pressure on their relationships how does a tryst be grounds for splitting. Cheating is more than likely a cry for help so to speak. The relationship needs help...right? Go get the help and keep it moving. I would not be torn to pieces if my lady cheated. I'd examine the reasons why and try not to have that occur again.

Now if your partner were having a serious relationship outside of what you have that is different. But to have sex is not that serious when you have built a life together.

Or is it?

But I would not stop trusting her if she cheated. Cheating is due to something lacking in your relationship. Trust has alot to do with insecurity and that shit is ugly!

Its a very complicated matter.

Cheating is a lot of things.
Not always something that happens because the relationship is not working well.

Its can be a mistake.
It can be an entertainment.
It can be a revenge.
It can be a step forward.
Or a huge step backwards.

Besides its hard to trust somebody who cheated.
And cheating involves health issues too.
I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

Once again...another thread about cheating. I guess when it comes down to it, it's really up to the people involved in the relationship, and how they wish to handle the situation. If they can get past the trust issue, then awesome. If not...well then I can only say there must have been a bigger issue then sex. What we all need to remember is that everyone who cheats does it for he/she's own reasons. Unless you have cheated, or have been cheated on it's really hard to form an opinion.

Yes, it should be because of AIDS and so many diseases that are passed around. You don't know how many people that OTHER person has been screwing around with before your mate screwed around with them. It's not worth it. disbelief

If my boyfriend/husband is not man enough to tell me what is wrong or what he is lacking from me before he cheats then FKUC him! Pack your ish. At least give me the opportunity to fix the problem before you expose me to AIDS or some other sexually transmitted disease! Lord know I have no problem tell my man what I want. That is not the right way to fix a problem in a relationship to go cheat because you are unhappy. Just leave an screw the whole femala population the safe way without mixing juices with me!

I can understand why someone might cheat, and I could even forgive them, but I don't think I could stay with them. That's a sign the relationship is just too broken, and though they might still be a good person, I could never trust them again.

If she is just your girlfriend and you both have an understanding then she should be OK with it. I really think that monogamy really only happens in married relations ships, because in longterm BF/GF relationships there usually is cheating going on, this is WHY the couple doesn't take that final step. IMO

I am generalizing, of course, but in those "common law" relationships where people play house, you really can't really say he's YOUR man if there are no papers on him. And he knows it too. wink

It is better to be open and honest and let a woman know EXACTLY where she stands with you. You must be specific, and no mixed signals. Cheaters are liars and liars this day and age can infest your body with disease. I personally can't deal with any man that can't be straight with me.

And to add.... married couples shouldn't split up because of cheating, because that behavior is usually a symptom of something else (greater) but and unmarried couple, that is IMMEDIATE grounds for dismissal. Pack your/her bags. lol

Bull.

SOMETIMES it may have to do with that but people who put everything in their relationships still get cheated on too.

Some people just don't know how to stay put.

I think it depends. If it was just once and it was just sex then no. If it was emotional and sexual then maybe. I guess it all depends if both people want to work it out.
