Movies with TERRIBLE endings!

Sat through all of Disney's Black Hole Last night. So they go through ALLLLL of that just to show us some sort of Hell and then Heavenish scene? WTF??? They even said on the extra "featurette" that they didn't know what the ending was going to be. Shoooo, I could have watched THAT and the 4 minute trailor that gave away oh..everything and been done with it!

Not as bad as Vanilla Sky ending but still. confused

Pretty much all of M Shayamalan's movies leave me cold!

Dark City had a pretty shitty ending too.

That one really came out of left field. More WTF? than terrible to me although I can totally understand why one would dislike it so much.

War of The Worlds (2005) - You mean to tell me that the teenage son makes it all the way to Boston on his own after running headling into an alien attack and surely his death? Puh-lease. disbelief

Josie and The Pussycats (2001) - The ending would have been so much better if the crowd realized they hated the Pussycats' music after the mind control was deactivated and left the concert. The girls would have then continued playing to the 5-10 fans present that liked them for REAL and then sign to an indie label and become the next Sleater-Kinney.

I can't hate Vanilla Sky. Penelope Cruz showed her boobies.

The War of the Worlds ending was so anti-climatic and false. I liked a lot of that movie.

All I can say is AI ends at the Blue Fairy for me.

BEST movies are when the lead character dies. It's a rule. It's gives more meaning to the ending of a movie. It makes a person THINK.

I love movies that do that. And I love, love, love Steel Magnolias. [bitchy Herman comes out to play] I even like Julie Roberts in it. Her dieing was just a bonus. We need more Julie Roberts movies like that.

Indeed. Any movie in which Julia dies is an Oscar Contender for me. I actually rewind the part where she dies over and over. It's better than chocolate!

Thats what i liked about American History X. You feel a sense of redemption for him and then he goes to hang a piss before he hands up his paper and then BAM! Angry black teen caps him, definitely came out of nowhere.

On terms of shit movie endings War of the Worlds and AI were both pretty crappy, AI just dragged on for WAY too long. Star Wars eps 1, 2, 3 had pretty ordinary endings as well, while they gave closure they weren't great like the originals.

i know there's a movie ending that pisses me off far more, but the ending of that spielberg "AI" movie was lame. It should have ended with the robot kid stranded underwater staring at the blue fairy. all that crap about the far future and getting discovered by people who look like big walking spoons was really unnecessary and it felt tacked on.

Depends on what the ultimate message of the movie was supposed to be.

Having it end with the kid underwater and staring at the blue fairy, wishing to be real so he could be loved, would definitely have given a much different message than the one that was given. The ending it has now, as goofy as it was, emphasized the constant of love, how true love really never diminishes, and the role faith plays in finding it. It also showed the "fake" love of robot boy as ultimately being more real that the love we humans tend to hand out and expect back.

I liked The Cell shrug. Even Jennifer Lopez' acting wasn't as bad a it usually is in that movie as far as I remember.

I loved "The Black Hole" as a kid. Saw it a few years ago and omigod--HORRIBLE! It has its moments, but even suspension of disbelief can only go so far in overlooking some of the just plain ludicrous situations in that movie. It's almost as bad as the bad guy flying Mariel Hemingway to the moon in "Superman 4"

Teminator 3 At the end of the movie, everyone was wondering if it was a long pause between scenes.

Flyboys The final battle seemed like every other battle in the movie, and the end was just too Hollywood.

Das Boot Deeeepressing, but great movie!

"City of Angels" [couldn't agree more, Jules!]

"Boxing Helena" [HATE it-was-all-a-dream shit]

"Eyes Wide Shut"

"What Dreams May Come"

"Brazil" (the studio version)

"Star Trek V"

I loved Vanilla Sky. So I ran out and rented the original and realized that Vanilla Sky was a pointless remake. The original is great.
