Fight Club had a horrible ending that really didn't fit in with the rest of the film. It moved so over the top that it rendered the rest of the movie terrible, imo.

WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE HATE VANILLA SKY?!

I loved Vanilla Sky. So I ran out and rented the original and realized that Vanilla Sky was a pointless remake. The original is great.

nod would never have seen the original w/o it though.

What I did like about Vanilla Sky over Abre los Ojos was that at least the cinematography was prettier. lol

My Own Private Idaho.

Watched it last weekend and it just ENDED. Like, right THERE.

And it was one of those "it's up to you what happens!" endings, which Im really starting to hate in movies.

I found the twist to be completely unbelievable. That movie made me so angry. Total CRAP!

I was okay with the twist, but when they start blowing things up real good, it just became a parody, and not a good one.

i kinda like those "leave you in the lurch" endings, if there's a good reason for it. but i know plenty of people who get REALLY angry when a movie doesn't tie up nice and neat at the end. i remember that used to make my mother livid!

and 'return of the jedi' totally got its ending rammed up the pooper with lucas' "special edition" nonsense and revisionism. bring back the OLD anakin spirit and bring back the ewok nub-nub song instead of that freakin' dopey-ass oprah winfrey theme song music they replaced it with!!! mad

Worst ending EVER.

That one really came out of left field. More WTF? than terrible to me although I can totally understand why one would dislike it so much.

I saw that movie, but I can't for the life of me remember the ending, or even remember the ending leaving an impression on me. hmph...

High Tension was a pretty tough, unusually well-made slasher that careened into one of those terribly daft twist endings.

REALLY? hmm

The ending was pretty violent and shocking. If it truly left no impression on you then you are one scary dude. lol

lol

I'm not saying it didn't leave an impression on me, just that I can't remember it making an impression on me.

I know that makes absolutely no sense... lol

SPOILER

If someone can believe that people are such sheep and desperate for leadership that they will rally around a man wrestling with HIMSELF outside of a bar then blowing up buildings isn't that much of a stretch.

I guess so, but it was different from the book's ending, which I felt was better and more in line with what had been set up. The movie seemed to be saying that all that mattered was the twist and that everything after it didn't have to make sense in context. That was just my reaction to it.

BEST movies are when the lead character dies. It's a rule. It's gives more meaning to the ending of a movie. It makes a person THINK.

I love movies that do that. And I love, love, love Steel Magnolias. [bitchy Herman comes out to play] I even like Julie Roberts in it. Her dieing was just a bonus. We need more Julie Roberts movies like that.

Indeed. Any movie in which Julia dies is an Oscar Contender for me. I actually rewind the part where she dies over and over. It's better than chocolate!

I now want a movie with Julia Roberts and Will Smith. Where they both DIE. Horrible deaths.

nod
U have to read the book! The book was so much better! The ending pissed me off, too, because I knew what was coming and I knew it wasn't happening in THAT movie!
(and how did she drive onto Manhattan?! They blew up the bridges!!!) mad

I've since bought the 1st two "I Am Legend" movies: "The Last Man on Earth" with Vincent Price and "Omega Man" with Charleton Heston. "Omega Man" sucked the worst of the 3!!!!
