Well, A Knight's Tale hasn't been shown here for a while, but I actually checked the cable guide right after I made my post and it was scheduled.

sad

Although I do follow some stuff about celebs just out of curiosity, I generally do not tend to think too much of what I hear. It's not like it has any real affect on my life in any way. I mean, I'll feel bad for people who lose a loved one or I'll feel bad for people who are obviously struggling in their lives (yes, I do feel sad for Britney) on a very superficial level, but that's about it.

However, this news is actually making me feel really shitty. For me, that's really weird because I definitely don't fall into the whole I-Worship-Celebs or the equally weird to me I-Hate-Celebs categories.

Don't know how to explain it cuz I don't know the guy other than what I have seen in movies and interviews....but, I'm actually sad over this. Maybe it's because he reminds me of a few people I really care about in my life...one of them being my youngest brother.

I feel the same way Erin. It is strange and hard to describe.

Yup.

And consider the famous story about Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier on the set of Marathon Man. Hoffman is playing a character who hasn't slept and is extremely stressed out, so he stays up all night and shows up on set the next day tired out of his mind and completely dishevilled. Olivier asks him why he looks so awful, so Hoffman explains his logic. Olivier laughs and says, "Why not try acting? It's much easier."

The Joker didn't drive Heath to anything; Heath's actions and addictions were his own. Method acting is not the reason, but I'm sure they are going to try and cite it as one for marketing purposes.

NEW YORK CITY - Actor Heath Ledger may have died after mistakenly taking too much prescription medication -- that you might hardly think would do such harm, the magazine Newsweek reported Wednesday.

Anti-gay religious leader Fred Phelps has launched a scathing attack on Heath Ledger, saying his death was "the best thing that ever happened" to his family.

Phelps, the 78-year-old pastor of the homosexual hate group from the US known as the Westboro Baptist Church also hit out against Australia, calling it "the land of sodom".

Phelps was referring to Ledger's Oscar-nominated role as a gay cowboy in the 2005 film Brokeback Mountain when he made his extraordinary comments in an interview with A Current Affair.

"Dying time is truth time," he said. "This is the best thing that ever happened to that family.

"The bottom line is that guy went out of his way to spend his time and make a little money, and glamorise and glorify that filthy, deadly sin of sodomy.

"And you're (the public) making the hero out of him!"

The right-wing pastor also had a verbal spray against Australia.

"We've been preaching to Australia for years now, and we've got a map of Australia and we've got (written) across the front of it, all the way from one end to the other: S-O-D-O-M'."

"Australia, the land of the sodomite-damned. Australia, which passes draconian laws to put Bible preachers in jail if they peach the proof about fags."

Phelps and his 70-odd followers are well known across the US for picketing the funerals of fallen American soldiers, gay rights parades and other public events.

The radical Kansas-based church plans to picket Ledger's memorial service which will be held in Los Angeles.

I really hope this man and all the picketers are shot at the funeral, or at least smashed to a bloody pulp. I cant even imagine how I would react if someone said and did this to my brother or relative

Please don't misunderstand me, i DO NOT agree with what these people are doing or their warped way of doing things and the hatred they preach but please tell me how the above highlighted words are any better than the hatred that Wetboro preach?
They are someones son/daughter too and if you preach their death/destruction for their belief how is that different to them doing the same.

As i said dont get me wrong These people are way out of line with this crap and the hatred they spew but perpetuation hatred on any level does not contribute to a solution

Well I'm sorry but I honestly believe they deserve it. I wouldn't be able to be the one to do it, but I sure as hell wouldn't mind if it happened. If it was my relative though that would be another story. Can you imagine hearing that your son deserved to die for making a frigging movie? And then showing up at his funeral and rubbing it it? I wouldnt be able to take it. It's fine if they want to believe homosexuality is wrong, but actually going out of your way to do this makes my blood boil. We dont need filth like that on this planet.

Police Reveal Additional Calls to Mary-Kate
Originally posted Thursday January 24, 2008 07:55 PM EST

The masseuse who found Heather Ledger's body called Mary-Kate Olsen a total four times – not twice as originally believed, the Associated Press reports.

Masseuse Diana Wolozin spent nine minutes, making three phone calls to Olsen – and waiting more than a minute between each call – before ever dialing 911, then called Olsen a fourth time after paramedics arrived at Ledger's New York apartment, the AP reports.

Wolozin first called Olsen on Ledger's own phone using the speed dial after the masseuse was unable to wake up the actor.

The additional calls were discovered when police took a closer look at phone records, according to AP.

It was not known why the masseuse called Olsen – though the actress was a friend of Ledger's – or why she did not immediately call authorities.

I dont agree with anyone that thinks that another human deserves to die for thinking something different.

This is why I have a fondness for Australia. These zealots would never be able to preach in Australia because they would be arrested. They call it the land of sodom as they too scared to get on a plane. They say that they are committed to their cause but not enough to risk arrest - bastards.

In a way burying Ledger in Australia would ensure that his funeral and any burial site or memorial would not be touched by these hateful people.

That is exactly what they think of Heath, that he deserved to die for thinking something different. And like I said thinking it is FINE. Going out and doing this, NOT fine. They're putting themselves out there to spread hate, say it behind closed doors whatever, but going to his funeral it is fair to retaliate. Ok I shouldn't of said I 'hope' that happens, but I do think something needs to happen to stop these people from doing this.

Mr. Ledger passed away yesterday at his home in New York. He was 28.

Too soon, Best Buy?

For real..... sad

Actually, I remember when I worked in a music store and Barry White had died. It saved a lot of time to create a makeshift tribute where customers who were already looking for his stuff to have it right there ready for them without asking the staff. And that example was as simple as looking under "W" "White, Barry" under R&B/Soul. I can imagine that DVDs sorted by title, not actor, would take a lot more time to search for and gather.

It's nice. It's genuine. I wish my rental store had done this, because I honestly would rather walk in and see a table as a recent tribute than search imdb.com then track them all down myself.
