One of the greatest songs on there is "Had U"...someone had once mentioned (@ the demised "love4oneanother web site) that it was ironic that Prince's first "song" w/ Warner was "For You" and the last song under the contract was "Had U" (which summarizes his whole experience in the music biz...DISILLUSION)...love the lyrics!!!

Well u know...
"wanted you, needed you, fondled you...fuck you, had you"...the guitar really compliments what he's saying...I really like the last two lines though because it describes being screwed over (even in relationships) and then totally dissed and dismissed. Just my two cents though...I still think it's a killer song!!! T (~!~)

I don't Know why ! Listen with Zanalee and Same December and I like it there and Dig U better Dead listen this is a really Great album. Word I got from people was because it was a Warner Effort and People were against Warner Brothers products after Prince Had Problems with Them. Fans didn't want to buy Anything Under Prince and Warner Brothers because they felt Warners had Dissed Prince. The album should have Definitely sold more Copies it is a Great piece and the Guitar work is absolutely STERLING!

I like this disc, too. Honestly, I don't see what about it is so "rushed" and "sloppy" and "bad." I mean, "NPS", yeah, it would fall under those catagories. But "C&D"? No way. "Right The Wrong" is hilarious.

I think "in2 the light" and "I will" are two really great songs! LOVE them!

Natasha's got it right. A lot of the fans were against Warner Bros at the time, and I think that had an effect on the way they viewed Come and Chaos & Disorder. After Come, Chaos & Disorder was refreshing with its live sound and many guitar-heavy songs. It doesn't deserve the bad rap it gets.

I love this CD...!!
The title track is classic, and those songs mentioned before are all great. I don't quite agree with "Had U"...I don't think it's one of his best efforts. The concept, Prince wanting to give a "fuck u" to warners, is noteworthy, but the song is too simple 4 Prince. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

The beauty to this song is found in its simplicity.
Who else could write a song using 20 different words coupled with "U"? This minimalistic song speaks volumes. It's more like a poem to music than a song. I also love the way it just plays itself out at the end. . . . Of course that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Spin magazine also said this album was underrated. It would of had many hit songs, if Warners cared.
Pretty good rock album. One great song: Title track. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Tina (~!~) Had U was inspired by a track off NIN's The Downward Spiral, that has a similar lyrical structure. I think it was called "Eraser"

When I first got the CD I liked some of it but wasn't overly impressed. After Emancipation came out I grew to Appreciate the type of guitar driven songs that Emancipation was lacking.I truly enjoy most of the album, other than right the wrong and I Rock Therefore I Am.
And as for it being a toss off to fulfill a contract, I have a hard time believing an artist would attatch their name to a project they didnt feel was worthy, contract or not.

I love this album too!! The moaning is probably something to do with Warner like mentioned above.

Now, I agree with you! Chaos and Disorder is one of Prince's funkiest, ROCK albums. With the brassiness of "Gold", this one WAS/IS quite refreshing. Oh yeah, "I Like It There" and "Dinner With Delores" are cool songs, not to mention, "Into The Light"...doesn't sound rushed to me. Tina (~!~)

I think there are some good songs on there but none of them are my favorite. Taken as a whole, the album amounts to jack squat if you ask me. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I never ever listen to it. I wish it would've been more like The Undertaker.
