Public service announcement-How to avoid a catheter I had surgery for apendicitis in the last year and found that after surgery I could not push in order to start my urine stream. I got very freaked out because even though I had to pee sooo bad, I couldn't get it started. I feared that I would have to have a catheter! 
Then I figure out success! What you do is 1)relax. 2)grab and squeeze the vein (AKA the taint) located between your anus and your testes. I did this and successfully went piss.
