The FRESH album by Sly Stone. Prince was right. (How often do you see me admit that?)

A few scattered favorites of mine:

Little Miss Lover by the Jimi Hendrix Experience (Mitch Mitchell was such a beast)
That Party by Harry Connick Jr. (hope he revisits that funk/rock period)
If That's Your Boyfriend by Meshell touched
Addicted by Truth Hurts
Funky Weekend by Mint Condition

Gosh, too many. I'll have to revisit this one.

Yeah,I know that "Radio Activity" isn't what most people would consider a typical "funk" song. It's more electro-funk than anything else (like Midnight Star's "Freak-A-Zoid" or "We Got The Juice" by Attitude),but you can't deny that it's funky...lol...maybe we should do a thread on those early 80s electro-funk type songs?

lol

I'm at work and running out of time for this list, but does anyone remember ebony webb? what was the name of that song? It sounded like prince(81,82 maybe) and it was fire from what I remember. Keep posting this is taking me back!

peace.

Oh, Man, I remember them! They sounded a lot like Prince and the Time around '81 (dressed like The Time, too!):
Ebonee Webb
R&B group featuring Michael Winston (vocals/saxophone), Thomas Brown (guitars/vocals), Gregg Davis (keyboards/synthesizers), Charles Liggins (percussion/vocals), Kenneth Coleman (bass), Roy Munn, Jr. (drums/vocals), Leon Thomas (keyboards/vocals), and Ronald Coleman (trumpet).

1981 – Anybody Wanna Dance
1981 – Do Me Right (Everybody Needs A Little Love)
1981 – Something About You
1981 – Woman
1982 – Too Hot To Be Cool
