This is a compilation I burned to drive to. Yes, that song is so dreamy. I really dig your list, too and you stole a lot of songs I would have listed. smile

I'd add Firefall's "You Are the Woman". You know it- "You are the woman that I've always dreamed of, I knew it from the start. I saw your face and that's the last I've seen of my heart". Lovely ditty!

This song's always been a guilty pleasure of mine.I mean, it's pretty sappy with the strings and its overuse of "baby" and all. This from the group that a few records earlier stated "...Up against the wall,motherf*cker..." lol The Rhodes is nice ,tho.

***"Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty (1978) it's the 1st track that Lisa (Simpson) plays when she got her sax
***"Fool (If You Think It's Over)" by Chris Rea nod
***"Magnet and Steel" by Walter Egan (1978) I brainwash family & friend with this one, the background vocals alone by Stevie Nicks are a dream, this song would make a stone want to fall in love

good ones already mentioned:

***"It's Too Late" by Carole King (1971)
***"Baby Come Back" by Player (1978)
***"Sara Smile" by Hall and Oates (1975)

"Biggest Part Of Me"
(again, Stymie.. very good taste!)
this song, I think I would play it among the 1st 3 at my wedding reception..

I would also include:

"I'm Not In Love" by 10CC - I like the video for this song.. it's like they're in "outer space".. & 1 of the guys (the keyboard player?) in the video reminds me of Jimmy Smits..

"I Just Wanna Stop" by Gino Vannelli

"I Love You Just The Way You Are" Billy Joel

"Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac. like several of their songs, this 1 has a "mystical, dreamy" feel to it (Stevie Nicks).
I love the bass line of this song, as well as the harmony in the chorus

"Hold The Line" by Toto, although this has a "hard rock" guitar "riff" in the chorus

"Chuck E's In Love" Rikki Lee Jones. I like the "EXAGGERATED drawl" she does in the middle of the song:
"is he heah.. Ah look in the poo' haw..
..uh izzy heah.. I look in the drug staw.."

"Reminiscing" by Little River Band.. this song TOTALLY has that "late 70s" to it

"Minute By Minute" by the Doobies
the best "slow jam" ever done by them, & of course Michael McDonald's plaintive, wistful, heartfelt vocals make this song the CLASSIC that it is

although I'm reluctant to classify this 1 as "soft rock" I would also say "Heart To Heart" from Kenny Loggins. I love everything about this song, & my favorite line within is:
"one by one, we're collecting lies
when you can't give love, you give alibis"

there are probably at least 4 or 5 more "soft rock classics" that I really like..
I just can't think of them!
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

These are gems, people! thumbs up!

Now, I'll prolly go and spoil it, 'cause I'm not sure if this one counts as "soft-rock":

Cats In the Cradle--Harry Chapin.

I'm sure this is:

Get Closer--Seals & Croft

And let's not forget "Summer Breeze" by Seals and Crofts .

The 1974 remake by the Isleys is pretty good too.

The remake by Type O Negative was even better. Gave it an incredibly eery and evil devil music metal theme!

It was actually pretty good if you are into spooky music.

-Wildfire (Michael...help me out here, three names I think!)
-You're No Good (Linda Ronstadt)
-We Don't Talk Anymore (Cliff Richard..I think!)
-No Time To Lose (Tarney Spencer)..this may be more "rock" than "soft rock"
-Sunshine (Jonathan Edwards)

-Lonely Boy (Andrew Gold)
-Sweet Life and I Go Crazy (Paul Davis
