Springsteen Live In Chicago

I just saw Bruce last night at Comiskey in Chicago. Man what a show. That guy has just an incredible amount of energy. Plus the set list was great...a lot from The Rising, but also Backstreets, Badlands, ROSALITA!!!, Out on the Streets. When they played Waiting on a Sunny Day the stage lights all blew out, he kept right along playing with the help of Little Steven shining a flashlight. The song went on for about 20 minutes with the lights out...the dude just went crazy up there, hanging upsidedown on his microphone stand and running around like a madman. Unbelievable! Anyway, I was so psyched and awed that I had to share this with my Prince buddies. BTW Bruce is the only other performer that I consider on par with Prince.

Man, that sounds like a great show. I hope he makes it back here to Houston. I agree with you in that he's probably the only performer I'd put up there with Prince live.

HOWEVER, if you get a chance to see Pat Benetar, do it. Her husband, Neil Giraldo, is the epitome of what a rock guitarist should be, IMO. He is just absolutely perfect.

Here's the setlist from Backstreets.com in case you don't already have it:

August 13 / Chicago, IL / U.S. Cellular Field
Notes: Bruce and the band took the stage to the sound of Sinatra's "My Kind of Town," for a Chicago one-night-stand that may have been back to basics setlist-wise, but still had its fair share of razzmatazz. They had to wait a bit longer during "Sunny Day" when the lights went out onstage, making for a marathon version of the song. As the band kept playing, Bruce messed around with some flashlights and brought the crowd-participation bit back around three times until the lights finally came back on. That (along with the three reprises of "Dancing in the Dark") may help explain why, at only 24 songs, the show lasted three hours and ten minutes. Setlist notables were "Adam Raised a Cain" to open, "Working on the Highway" (rather than the setlisted alternate "Spirit in the Night") "Backstreets," "Where the Bands Are," and an audible "Seven Nights to Rock."

Setlist: Adam Raised a Cain/The Rising/Lonesome Day/Prove It All Night/My Love Will Not Let You Down/Empty Sky/You're Missing/Waitin' on a Sunny Day/Working on the Highway/Worlds Apart/Badlands/Out in the Street/Mary's Place/Backstreets/Into the Fire/No Surrender

First Encore: Where the Bands Are/Bobby Jean/Ramrod/Born to Run/Seven Nights to Rock

Second Encore: My City of Ruins/Land of Hope and Dreams/Rosalita/Dancing in the Dark
