I think there's a distinction between not liking his music and saying he has no talent. I can clearly tell that John Legend is talented. I don't think he's a virtuoso, but he clearly has musical talent and deserves to have a career. It's just that I don't care for his music. There are hundreds of contemporary artists I'd rather listen to.

I can't speak for his politics (I am unaware of them and would not judge him on them) but "Used to love u" aside I cannot think of less indistinct act more lacking in charisma, substance. He is a dull faded ghost of a performer, destined to fade into the netherworld shadows of obscurity.

A talented man who sacrified it all at the alter of celebrity. Perhaps, as Graycap says, there was something there at the beginning but he made his choices long ago.

Most of his music is boring. The only time I really dug his stuff is when he guested as vocalist on a cover album of music by the Roots band
