Madonna's latest missive apparently regarding the movie was an Instagram post stating, "My Life..... My Journey....My Voice.......My Story......Let Me tell it. When Im Ready! It Will be Worth the Wait! Thank You." Ouch! smile

So she is planning on telling it?

I'll wait.

Would it be the truth though, or would it be another Madonna 'performance'? ... like Truth Or Dare was meant to be a behind the scenes look but portions of it were staged.

I'd love for to write a truthful biography, just can't see it happening.

Her brothers book will probably be the closest we get to a true behind the scenes peak.

How is that different from any other celebrity or musician writing a book? Everyone writes from their perspective and how they experienced things. I don't really believe in such a thing as objective truth. Everyone sees things differently and has their own version of the truth based on their own unique life experience.

Isn't her brother just as biased as she would be? It seemed to me he had an axe to grind against her so is he really all that objective and truthful?

I think Madonna is a pretty straightforward honest person in interviews. But she can only write from her perspective. Other people may have experienced the same events differently.

True...but why not do a docu about her entire career instead? I'm still a sucker for "Truth or Dare"...I've always loved it and still enjoy watching it till this very day. nod The part where she acknowledges that Sean Penn was basically the love of her life always gets me. touched I'm confident that if she was asked the same question today, her answer would be the same.

yeahthat also this bit of news sounds like a pile of whofarted come on no one could really play Madonna in a film.

Yes to truth or dare! Playing devils advocate...what about Lourdes? THAT could be interesting 😉

She should write her own autobiography and allow it to be turned into a movie, with her approval and input. The best biopics are the ones where the artist is directly involved....a perfect example is Tina Turners' 'What's Love Got To Do With It' movie.

Ummm, well a lot of elements in that movie weren't even true though. Tina said so herself.

I've just finished reading Springsteen's book (great read btw, well worth a look). I think because the 'onstage' Bruce is so close to who he actually is, with so much of his material autobiographical, his book was as close to what actually happened as its possible to get ... granted, with his opinion or take on those things included.

Madonna has never really been an autobiographical performer, with the odd exception in her music (Oh Father, In This Life, Substitute for Love, Live to Tell). Her 'onstage' Madonna has always seemed to me more of a construct, a character she plays to different degrees. Even in her interviews, she never truly seems to switch that character off completely. Would she do that for a book? I'm not sure ...

Christopher definitely had an axe to grind with his book (I think he'd been recently booted off her staff ... might be wrong), and he certainly gave his opinion on events that happened ... but they were events I couldn't see Madonna writing about. Like when AIDS became prominent in the eighties and Sean Penn pulled Chris aside one day and, knowing he was gay, asked if he was safe having shaken his hand a few times.

I can't see Madonna writing that plainly ... it would affect the image she's worked so hard for so long to build. Same thing I said to a friend recently with The Undertaker retiring from WWE; a tell all book from him would be an amazing read, but I doubt he'll do it because he's worked to hard to craft his public persona.

I disagree.I think that if Madonna were to write her autobiography,it would be truly honest and genuine. She has ALOT to say and I don't think she would sugar-coat anything or play some kind of "character" while telling her story.I'm not sure why you believe that.In her interviews and in her music (as you pointed out),Madonna bares her soul. She's not "phony" or pretentious when discussing herself, her life and her thoughts.

Wasn't she Raped in NY? I'm a rape victim, my auntie army friend girl was performing oral sex on me at the age 11 and then started inserting me inside her at the age 12. Living me shaking in fear and crying for my mom. She used to put her pink glock 17 she had from the army to my head and always said she would kill me if I said a word. The only reason she left me alone was because the last time she tried to rape me I was shaking so uncontrollably it scared her. So then she started doing my cousin who was 17 and they later married. Male raped victims where the attacker was a woman get told to STFU and you know you wanted it and liked it which isn't true. But it's sad to see how men/women victims that's being honest about being abused is seen as villians but the men/women who lie about being abused gets the help and support that real victims should receive. That's the reason why people kill themselves, hurt others, go insane, become repressive, and build walls because the good have to suffer with the bad few. We as a human race fight and kill each other than anything else on the planet earth. And the worse part is nobody wants to take ownership of their wrong, people like playing the victim card just to not take ownership of their bad actions and decisions. Then blame everybody and every thing from religion to innocent people for their shortcomings and then wonder why their life is full of hell. Ok back to madonna sorry...........

I've heard stories of madonna being raped in NY when she first got there. sad

We love to see her by that real in her movie like Ricky Bell was with his drug addiction. It really helps other victims and it's a great feeling to know how many of us maintained and got through those difficult times.

Identity

At age 19, Madonna was sexually assaulted at knifepoint shortly after arriving in New York.

She described the attack as follows:

“I was going to a dance class and the door was locked and I needed money for the pay phone,” she said. “[A man] gave it to me … he was a very friendly guy. I trusted everybody.” He convinced her to make the call from his apartment across the street. When she went with him, he raped her.

Asked if she’d ever called the police or pressed charges, Madonna echoed the experience of numerous rape survivors: “You’ve already been violated. It’s just not worth it. It’s too much humiliation.”

I certainly don't think she's 'phony' or pretentious ... quite the contrary. Was Bowie phony just because he presented his music through characters he created? Nope. But there are contradictions between the onstage Madonna (ballsy, confident) and, by her own admission, what she's like out of the spotlight (shy, reflective).

Take her music. I'd consider Ray of Light her most personal album ... that was almost twenty years ago now. She never really continued the themes on that record, certainly not across an entire album again like she did there. Her last three albums seem to be focused on beating the listener over the head with 'look how young and firey I still am ... I'm still that take-no-shit Madonna you knew from back in the day'.

I enjoyed all three albums but where is the reflective Madonna we saw on ROL? Surely now she's getting older she'd be writing more honest material in that vein. IMO the best songs she released over the last three albums were the ones that had an element of what was going on in her non public life (Heartbreak City, Miles Away) ... these were few and far between though.

I just think an autobiograhy from her would sway more towards the Bitch, I'm Madonna Madonna, and less from the Substitute for Love Madonna ... that certainly seems to be the direction her music has taken over the last few years, like she's trying really hard protect that classic Madonna image of a take-no-shit performer.

Ray Of Life is the type of deeply personal,introspective,soul-baring album that an artist can't repeat. There was so much going on in her life when she recorded that album, such as having her first child, getting into Kabbalah, etc. All of those things were "new" to her back then, and it inspired her to really dig deep. It's unfair to expect her to go through that process over and over again.

Besides,in many ways,American Life was every bit as personal as ROL and as you pointed, more recent albums like Hard Candy and Rebel Heart certainly have their share of deeply personal songs. But she likes to have fun,too biggrin She likes to dance. That's why she does songs like "Bitch,I'm Madonna".It's part of who she is.

I feel that if she wrote her autobiography, she wouldn't hold anything back. You will get the true, uncensored story of Madonna.....in her own words. And it's gonna make a damn good movie! lol

Springsteen manages it (as do others) ... maybe I'm holding her to too high a standard.

My fave Madonna songs are the ones you can dance to (You Can Dance is still an all time fave album). Not sure I'd put tracks like Bitch, I'm Madonna or Unapologetic Bitch in the dance category though ... probably more the 'fun' category you mentioned, which has seen some real stinkers from her in the last few years (Give Me All Your Luvin eek ).

Maybe I'm just hankering for another Ray of Light. Her albums always seemed to offer something different each time ... Hard Candy, MDNA, Rebel Heart, they all seem cut from the same cloth. Not bad cloth necessarily, just a bit repetitive.

American Life is a bit of an anomaly. She seemed to have a chip on her shoulder making that one ... I'm guessing political motivation was part of it. Underrated album IMO, just ike Erotica ... people didn't know how to take the album when it was released.

Despite my doubts as to whether it'll happen, an honest 1,000 plus page autobiography from the lady would be a dream come true!

Just because Madonna uses characters in her songs or writes some fun lighthearted material in her music, that doesn't mean she wouldn't write a very honest autobiography.

A few years ago she wrote a mini autobiography for Harpers Bazaar. It was a very honest revealing piece. I feel her autiobiography would be like that.

As for her rape, she talked about it in quite a bit of detail in an interview with Howard Stern she did to promote Rebel Heart.

Rebel Heart is quite different from both Hard Candy and MDNA. I don't think you can lump them all together.

Rebel Heart has quite a few ballads and reflective lyrics. I don't think it as a whole falls into the look how young I am theme.

Exactly. Some people will hear a song like "Bitch,I'm Madonna" and dismiss the entire album....ignoring all of the deep, introspective,"serious" songs on the album.Songs like "Living For Love","Devil Pray","Joan Of Ark","Wash All Over Me" and the title track are all personal, reflective songs where Madonna reveals a lot about her life, her career and her thoughts. It's unfair to dismiss this album as just another "party album".It goes much deeper than that.

Take a listen to most of her ballads, most of them specially from Erotica up to Rebel Heart sound quite autobiographical to me.

Michael Jackson ’s daughter Paris is the shock favourite to play Madonna in a movie about her life.

Producers of the biopic Blonde Ambition want the Thriller singer’s 19-year-old daughter to take the starring role.

Paris’s acting debut came earlier this year in the American TV series Star – and she received some glowing reviews.

The show, made by Fox, is about three women who form their own pop group. Paris played a social media guru.

A film source said of the movie role: “Madonna is not supporting the film yet but the makers are hoping to cast someone who she will love.

“At the moment they are in talks with Paris.

“If she agrees it will be a massive coup for producers as Madonna is a big fan of Paris.”

Last month, the 58-year-old superstar lashed out at makers of Blonde Ambition.

The film is set in 1980s New York and will chart her rise to fame and the release of her first album.

Madonna said: “Why would Universal Studios want to make a movie about me based on a script that is all lies?”
