Right? Her last album was two times better than Imperfect Angel and E=MC2 so I'm hopeful

Pros:

At last, Mimi is back with new material.

I wanna "touch that body". Fo real. drooling

Cons:

Appalling lead single, hardly the smash I expected.

Samples Donell Jones' 1999 song, "Where I Wanna Be".

Umpteenth rapper shows up on a Mariah song.

What's with the guest rappers? Can't she just sing? She has an amazing voice but just comes out with awful songs featuring no marks like MC Such and Such. She's not going to smash the pop charts. Singers her age just don't have the appeal with the youth of today. She might have been better off doing a record that showcases her talent instead of her shortcomings.

She loves hip hop and is making what she wants. I'm not sure if she made this record with Jermaine Dupri but they both grew up listening to rap in the eighties. Makes sense to me!

See that new Missy tune sounds delicious and exotic, Mariah's tune is the same beat style delivery whatever the funk this is everyone does now and it sounds kinda forced and lazy in comparison. Me and my friend were joking about how Mariah is gonna be making videos in her 90s on the beach with the walker chasing dudes.

I agree,it's just not a good song.Mariah has done hip-hop beats for too long, now. She needs to get back to basics and come up with something great like "Can't Let Go" and "Always Be My Baby"...real songs that actually had melodies and no hip-hop nonsense.

PROS:

Mariah's body.

CONS:

The song, the rap, the beat, the writing, the production. Seriously if you would NOT have said new single, no one would have even been able to tell this was not from the last 6 or 7 albums she has done. Everything about this song is bad sorry, love you Mariah but you have long since been musically interesting.

Great track!
You would never pin me as ever being a Mariah fan , but good music is good music. And this is fantastic. If a non Mariah fan can shower it will love it goes without saying it's going to blow up.
No doubt it's going to be one her her biggest single ever. No doubt whatsoever. And I'm a music snob and a half.

First Mariah track on my Spotify. For me that's how good it is.

She looks amazing in her video too!

Let's check back a year later. And see how funny this statement was. In another life I must have been in A&R because if i was getting paid for my picks in music I'd be a rich bitch.

What she/her handlers need to ralize is that she needs to go back to that Vision Of Love material. When she left Motolla she went all gung ho with being down, having a rapper all over her music, an in videos. She needs to go back to that Milquetoast, Whitney style material.

The ingenue whos an around the way girl shit is played. Get some anthems like Adele again.

As probably the resident lamb on this board, I just had to weigh in with my own thoughts on this new single. I was reading some of the comments and reviews on YouTube, and while there were the usual haters and trolls calling her a hoe and lipsyncing faker, it seems the younger music fans were eating this single up. excited Which makes me sad, because I didn't think it was all that. It is using the same lazy beats as nearly every other current R&B/hip-hop track out today, and it is light years below what she used to sing back in the 1990s and on her Emancipation of Mimi album. I know Mariah thinks she has an awesome body, but she once again flaunts it wiith ill-fitting attire that makes her look like she's trying too hard to be sexy. At her age, she needs to get back to her roots and stop trying to appeal to the same audience who listens to Nicki Minaj and Tinashe.

sigh disbelief typing

I don't think that "image" was the real Mariah. Its clear that Mariah doesn't want to be that Mariah and she rather be a sex kitten. Its such a shame really because she was such a talented singer, what a waste.
