clapping clapping I honestly don't get the hate for Adele I really don't. She is a talented singer, she keeps her clothes on, she writes her own music, plays instruments, she knows when to go away and take a break from the spotlight, she doesn't do anything for attention, she makes descent music and she stays in her lane and goes home shrug But then you have someone like Beyonce, who is an arrogant asshole and who does shady things for attention and who is overrated but people still defend her, I will never understand disbelief

I love Adele. I just think she has a huge advantage by being unprovocative. At first that may have been a disadvantage but once there was demand from the public it became an advantage that will never go away.

Adele is playing it smart. She will be around for a long time and it will have everything to do with her talent.

I'm not trying to make her into the biggest star in the world. I'm just saying it's impressive how she's done this decade while her peers from last decade have faltered. With the Adele vs Taylor comparison, I'd honestly say Taylor's success is more impressive because Adele plays it as safe as possible with her image and songs while Taylor seems to make an effort to be hated by the public.

I don't think anyone really hates Adele, they just aren't interested in her music. Not that she has to but she's not doing anything that any soulful female singer hasn't done before.

The thing with Adele that I don't understand is, they always try to come up with an excuse in order reason her popularity. She is a very talented singer and she makes music that people want to hear and its as simple as that.

Imo, Adele definitly has haters and Adele is not a "soul" singer. She is a contemporary singer and artist. She sings with a lot of soul, passion and emotion but her music is not soulful.

How does she have a huge advantage??? If anything, she has a disadvantage (she is not a typical pop star). It just so happens that her music is very universal and a lot of people like her music. She is popular strictly on the bases of her voice and music imo. She offers some much needed variety in the mainstream.

She can sell albums to conservative and/or religious people. That's a huge advantage. Being atypical at first made her unlikely to be a megastar but she overcame it by connecting to millions and millions around the world with her music and now she's destined to become the most successful female artist of all time. Both my evangelical sisters have purchased all 3 of her albums. It doesn't matter that Adele is probably a super liberal who is nothing like them. She doesn't rub them the wrong way. I remember the crummy Christian high school I went to. The teen girls liked Britney and Christina (pre-Stripped video) but thought that Janet was nasty for wearing almost nothing on the All For You album cover. There are lots of stupid people that make big deals out of nothing and avoid things over silly reasons.

Didn't say Adele is a soul singer just that she is soulful.

The same with Beyoncé, why don't you understand that.
