Well, changing the music trends every other year for a decade says more than what kind of effects you are using.

.

This concise point summarizes both the allure and the replusion of Kanye West and his music industry. Maybe he doesn't or didn't intentionally become the poster boy for the current state of musical ADHD, genre "creation" overload, instant "old school", and a mass of incredibly dated, disposable music.... but he is the champ of all of these for sure.

Well, changing the music trends every other year for a decade says more than what kind of effects you are using. You must have close to no idea of what the art of sampling is, to use this as a proof for his lack of talents. Have you ever tried flipping samples like Dilla? Finding the right pieces and parts of songs, pitching up and down, placing it in a groove to make it really sit in the bigger picture, and get your own sound out of it. Also autotune can be used creativly, just like any other effect. Does a guitarist suck if he is not playing a fretless guitar? Does it make him less genuis. Autotune is just an effect. It doesn't make the music better or worse. It might be the wrong effect for most purposes, and right effect for some purposes. Of course, it's also used for corrective purposes. But that can also be said about anything that forces a pitch to a note. Frets does that pretty damn well. If you make an instrument that only has the E major notes... does that make you less of a genuis if you make a freaking hot song with it in E major? NO! Find better ways to argue a point than these random biased outbursts.

I fought this viewpoint for years on the org. It is futile! lol

J Dilla gave Kanye props for how he flipped Marvin Gaye's "Distant Lover" on "Spaceship", but the org wants to heap praise on someone who can create something on the level of "Distant Lover" in the first place. (I get it now!)

!!! So true!

The arguments has always been the same. The first time music was recorded, some people would say that only live music was real. When somebody started using the electric guitar, only acoustic music was real with soul. When people started using synths, people complained about that. Some people argue that only tape recordings preserve the soul, or even adds soul to the music. Really? Adds freakin SOUL? Maybe some "warmth and thickness" to its. However that's also a matter of taste and style. Alot of people hates on drum machines. Some of Prince biggest classics are freakin DRUM MACHINES. The linn has some of the most over used samples EVER. And Prince fans are trying to school people on what's genuis and what's real. The don't know shit about no music. They just try to spread their fanatic opinions as if they're the truth.

The viewpoint was lost on me because I wasn't old enough to remember New Wave, the onslaught of synth and drum machine, it was already present. There will be a generation where a black president and autotune is the norm.

(Excerpt)

http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/hip-hop/7318632/kanye-west-life-of-pablo-sale-streaming-album

-

Is the saga of Pablo finally coming to an end? Sources tell Billboard that Kanye West's latest album The Life of Pablo, which has been streaming exclusively on Tidal since its stuttered semi-release in the early hours of Valentine's Day last month, will not only be available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music tomorrow, but will finally be released for sale. Now that West appears to finally be happy with the series of last-minute tweaks and adjustments he's been making to the album, including several done yesterday (March 30), Pablo could arrive for download on his website in the next few days, possibly as early as today (March 31).

-

To recap: when Pablo was released after West's Saturday Night Live performance last month around 2 in the morning, it was initially made available for download onKanyeWest.com and in Tidal's store for $20, in addition to the stream. A few hours later, the download link was taken down and West's site crashed, leaving some users with either multiple credit card charges as a result of the site being unresponsive or with purchases confirmed but without the album download code, as the files had been removed. When fans took to Twitter to complain, Tidal worked quickly to clear up the double charges (offering options for refunds and free trials to those affected) but, when the dust settled, about 4,000 fans were stuck having paid for an album that was no longer available to own.

-

Sources at the time told Billboard that West removed the album because he wasunhappy with the masters and wanted to continue working on it. That certainly has seemed to be the case over the past six weeks, as West has continued tinkering with the project, adding and removing different versions of songs to the version streaming on Tidal and claiming Pablo would never be available widely. This week, however, 'Ye seemed to change course when he released "Famous" and "I Love Kanye" to both Spotify and Apple Music. And now it seems he's finally satisfied with what appears to be the "official" version of Pablo, with multiple sources telling Billboard that the full album will be made available on other streaming sites, and for sale via West's website, possibly very soon.

KANYE AND SCOOTER GOING WIDE
WITH PABLO (UPDATE)

-

Sources inside Kanye West's camp confirm reports that the artist has pacted with Scooter Braun to co-manage with longtime rep Izzy Zivkovic—and that Yeezy will release his The Life of Pablo album to all streaming services on Friday (4/1).

-

Label sources note that the positive influence of Braun, who recently spearheaded the triumphant turnaround of Justin Bieber's career—the Biebs is now bigger than ever—is evident in this latest move to take Pablo wide.

-

After digging in his heels about The Life of Pablo being a perennial exclusive for TIDAL, Kanye loosened the strings a few days ago, making both "Famous" and "I Love Kanye" available across platforms.

-

Look for the latest incarnation of TLOP (which had a few significant updates) to be released to the remaining streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, Rhapsody, Google Play and even the shiny new Soundcloud Go on Friday.

-

You'll recall that the album was momentarily for sale as a download on Tidal as well; those who purchased the set during that brief window will, according to reports, be sent an updated version.

I miss the old Kanye, straight from the 'Go Kanye
Chop up the soul Kanye, set on his goals Kanye
I hate the new Kanye, the bad mood Kanye
The always rude Kanye, spaz in the news Kanye
I miss the sweet Kanye, chop up the beats Kanye
I gotta to say, at that time I'd like to meet Kanye
See I invented Kanye, it wasn't any Kanyes
And now I look and look around and there's so many Kanyes
I used to love Kanye, I used to love Kanye
I even had the pink Polo, I thought I was Kanye
What if Kanye made a song, about Kanye?
Called "I Miss The Old Kanye," man that would be so Kanye
That's all it was Kanye, we still love Kanye
And I love you like Kanye loves Kanye

The project is very middle of the road.
