http://www.usatoday.com/s.../76908840/ 1: SNUB: Madonna, Prince are no-shows Both '80s icons returned in huge ways this year with new albums: Madonna, touting her dance-heavy 13th effort Rebel Heart; and Prince, with Tidal exclusive HITNRUN Phase One. But lo and behold, neither could muster any love from the Academy (save for Madge collaborator Diplo, whose work on Heart helped nab him producer-of-the-year recognition).

Whaaa? Prince surely did not retutn this year in "huge ways". Maybe last time with the dual albums but HitNRun barely made a blip on the pop music radar. Excited the charts with a vengeance. I loathe Madonna but she did come out in "huge ways" but less and less people care about her.

Right? No Madge??

It's so sad that Taylor Twit is nominated for best album of the year. What the fuck is wrong with people? ? What happened to real music? i

What? No nominations for Beyonce??? They didn't make up at least one for her? I guess the committe figured they better cool it now that she has de-throwned Aretha as Queen of the Grammy Awards. lol

If they continue to give her anymore, the grammy's will become a joke, (now that it is not now) but the fact that she has that many grammys and not one classic album or song is outrageously ridiculous. I notice that when Beyonce or Rihana dont have anything out the grammys tends to the nominate the underdogs. They need to just recognize them period. I am happy for D Angelo!

The Rap Album category is actually decent (aside from The Pinkprint. Nice to see J. Cole get a nod and Compton on the list as well. I'd be happy with either of those winning even though it's likely going to Drake. I enjoyed IYRTITL but it's not on the level of Forest Hills Drive and Compton. The Rap Song noms are atrocious though. Besides AoTY, the only other category I can say I care for is Record of the Year in which I'm rooting for "Uptown Funk". Of course, I wouldn't be surprised to see Taylor win every category she's nominated for; I'd like to be proven wrong. [Edited 12/7/15 16:08pm]

Since when a weak ass so called battle rap song deserves a nomination? They seem to always waste a slot or two with that Rap category. "Back To Back" was just a throwaway answer track to Meek Mill's desperate attempt for some attention in the rap world. BUT....because it's Drake, everyone's favorite commercial rapper, they just had to nominate that song.

Too bad J.Cole probably won't get much shine this year for a superb piece of work. It's going to be K.Dot's year though. I'm expecting him to sweep all Rap/Hip Hop categories, maybe even crossover into the mainstream lanes too. He'll be the critics darling this year, while Taylor will be the favorite to win it all. Just on the strength of her record sales alone.

The value of artistic merit went out the window a looooong time ago.

Seriously. "Back to Back" was better than that crap Meek dropped but is still a piss weak diss track. Yeah, I can admit Drake marketed it perfectly and calculated everything surrounding it to a T and it was "subliminally" clever but the odds were in his favor anyway and he simply dropped a better diss than the far less popular Meek. Not to mention it took him two times to even come up with that. The only reason this bull got a Grammy nom was because it's bull from Drake.

I wasn't into TPAB as much as most were so it'll be somewhat bittersweet for me to see Dot win but it's whatever. It shouldn't be a shock to anybody if Taylor takes home AotY.

Would LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to see both Alabama Shakes & Lianne La Havas go home with something. They both deserve it.

Change it one more time..

Every other year The Best New Artist category is a big'OL question mark..I have never heard of any of the Artists, maybe I've heard their songs...KING Kendrick Lamar is deserving of his 11 Nominations and I predict he'll sweep all his nods in the Rap category...Lalah Hathaway is becoming a GRAMMY darling and she might pull it off again...D'angelo is our boy, The GRAMMYS like a come-back and I don't think they'll let him go home empty handed, he'll will win "Best R&B Album....My Boy The Weeknd is more than deserving of his 7 nominations and he'll win 3 GRAMMYS..I'm surprised Mary's London Sessions was snubbed (it qualified).....Interesting that The ceremony will be held on a Monday night instead of a Sunday night...

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kendrick or Alabama Shakes win AOTY. I think TPAB is the critics darling this year but TS's "1989" is the commercial favorite. Notwithstanding, Kendrick's joint sold well too, just not at TS level.
