There are interludes just not listed. The title tracked has the first interlude at the end of song.

Does anyone here recognize that sample in the background? Thanks for the studio version SEANMAN. I knew I would like it from the live performance Monday night. Looks like Jackson/Harris/Lewis made something special again. I'm really looking forward to hearing the rest.

Is Jackson 5's "Never Can Say Goodbye" sampled in the background?

Unbreakable could feature the only interlude for all we know, or there could just be a few like on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Why wasn't this the first single? 10,000 times better than No Sleep.

Janet Misses Grammy Deadline on purpose! New Album 'Unbreakable Due October,2

Janet Jackson is “Unbreakable” but she will also be un-awardable. Interesting. Janet releases her new album “Unbreakable” on October 2nd. The deadline for Grammy eligibility is September 30th. So only Janet’s “No Sleeep” single will make the Grammy deadline.

So what’s going on here? For some reason, Janet and her team are opting out of the Grammys. I’m surprised. They had a good shot at Best R&B album nominations. My guess is they’ll go for a performance on the American Music Awards in November. That would preclude them from a Grammy performance anyway.

Missy Elliot (formerly Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot), one of the coolest people in the world, is a guest star, as is the ubiquitous J Cole.

I'm so with Janet on this! They basically blackmailed her! They disinvited her from The Grammy's. It wasn't even that serious. Kudos to Janet for giving them the finger. One good thing Jermaine Dupre' did was resign himself from the Grammy board in protest for her. I will always respect him for that. I always felt The Grammy's NEVER acknowledged her properly anyway

lol She already has several of them anyway.

Unbreakable, the song, sounds fantastic. It brings me right back to the early 90s. I also think it's a nice way to kick off the album. I hope there are other 90s throwbacks on the record, too.

I agree she looks a little older on the cover, and that there are better recent shots of her, but I don't think she looks bad. I love the intricate juxtaposition of all of her jewelry - the bracelets, the rings (especially the "Black Eagle"), the neckware. I love the black nails cut short. The hair is killing it.

The only thing I don't love is the font. All wrong, and quite cheap looking, IMO. Although, I am picky about fonts.

I'm very excited to have a new Janet record to jam to all these years later, and that it's shaping up to be a great one. And I hate that I don't see her show for 2 more months!!

The best shot of Janet with the best font, IMO, is actually set up at every merchandise table on the tour. It's a banner of the first promo shot everyone saw. And "Unbreakable" is spelled in a row of dots.

Reminds me of those B&W promo shots that labels distribute in the early 90's. All thats missing is her name & the record label in small bald fonts at the bottom. Love it.

The facial expression is harsh and not youthful. You don't only need wrinkles to look old.

What is America's issue with age? She looks like a 49 year-old woman because she's a 49 year-old woman. She's acting and looking her age like every grown person should. Janet's core audience isn't even young people so why should she try to appeal to them? The ageism in this world is just ridiculous.

Thank you. I'm not particularly a Janet fan, but she looks appropriately her attractive 49-year-old self. This notion that everyone should be smeared in vernix is so... basic. rolleyes

She is simply gorgeous up close. If anyone needs evidence, there is a super upclose picture of her eyes and eyebrow where you can see every crease, hair follicle, and pore. It's genetic! Just look at the eldest Jackson, Rebbie, or the mom Katherine!

For those that's been asking about tour staging, costumes etc. Gil let it slip out a while ago that the 2nd leg was going to be different than the 1st. See article below from a site that's following all things Janet...

-

http://www.janet-love.com/2015/09/05/darren-blogs-janets-perfect-delivery/

-

Darren Blogs: Janet’s perfect delivery

-

"So here we are, three shows in and Miss Janet Jackson has given us, the fans, an astonishing amount of new material delivered with sheer precision in both its marketing strategy and its content.

-

Since her initial announcement in May, Janet and her team have engineered her return to world domination with gentle but well planned and meticulous timing.

-

Through a series of coordinated tweets and posts, Janet has been in control of her own content releasing new material in a steady fashion but giving fans enough to “keep the conversation going”.

-

Very little has been released exclusively to national media outlets, with the focus instead being on reporters and blogs picking up on material Janet has published herself usually through her Twitter page.

-

Janet hasn’t done any major sit down interviews, nor has she graced the cover of magazines but the frenzy surrounding her return has been palpable with multiple media outlets regularly giving air time and column inches to Janet’s return.

-

So how has this new strategy evolved? Firstly, it’s the fact she’s been out of the public eye for an extended period of time. She’s never been one to release albums every year like some of today’s pop empresarios. But this is the first time that Janet has released an album in the new sphere of heavy social media, rapid music turnover and streaming music services.

-

You’ll notice that by looking at the tracklisting for her new album Unbreakable you’ll see a host of songs and they’re all songs, not interludes. But when you listen to the title track Unbreakable you’ll notice it’s sandwiched between two very distinctive Janet interludes but they form the body of the album track. It’s likely that this is a very clever ploy to ensure that singles can continue to be released in traditional format without the interludes to enable fans to purchase slightly different versions of the song when they are released down the line and to give the album a shelf life longer than others. As far as I’m aware it’s the first time any artist has done this but it’s clear that Janet intends to make sure that this album lasts the duration of her tour.

-

These days artists tend to release several singles before then announcing the album and releasing it in order to generate as many sales and streams as possible. Janet’s team openly acknowledge that chart positions aren’t the prime goal here. They are an added bonus, but the message Janet is portraying is the key.

-

Lyrically we know that Janet’s most recent albums haven’t reached the depths of the introspective and contemplative Velvet Rope. But it’s clear that Unbreakable will see a return to the profound lyrics we all know and love Janet for. Lyrics that touch each and every one of her fans in different ways.

-

Only recently have I discovered a book called The Velvet Rage by Alan Downs which is named after the album and talks about issues faced by gay men as they grow up and the need to self reflect, analyse and find contentment in oneself. It’s an analysis that Janet plunged into in the Velvet Rope with lyrics such as “we all have the need to feel special” and “check in the mirror my friend, no lies will be told then, pointing the finger again, you can’t blame nobody but you”. It shows just how far and deep Janet’s message can permeate.

-

On Unbreakable we’ve already had insight into the depths Janet is going to with this album. Reuniting with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis she sings: “I lived through my mistakes, it’s just a part of growing”, presumably in reference to failed marriages and public vitriol that came as a result of the Superbowl.

-

And the track titles reveal their own depth with the album being clearly dedicated to falling in love, breaking up and being augmented with socially conscious messages such as that displayed on Shoulda Known Better and Lessons Learned.

-

The opening of the Unbreakable Tour in Vancouver also brought with it total surprises for the fans. Premièring new tracks, until the lights went down and the show started no one had even caught wind of the fact that Janet had a new track with Missy Elliott.

-

The surprises kept on coming with new choreography and three further new tracks taken from the album. We’ve already been told by Janet’s choreographer Gil Duldulao to expect changes between leg one and two and I understand that Janet is set to perform at London’s O2 Arena on 30th April 2016 which means we’re already expecting a third leg.

-

And the surprises will keep on coming I’m reliably informed. The regular use of the hashtag #ConversationsInACafe still hasn’t become apparent. It will in due course.

-

Reiterating the lyrics of the track The Great Forever, in which Janet tells others not to speculate about her life or the way she lives it, we’re reminded that that’s exactly what she’s doing with the release of Unbreakable. She is releasing the music directly to the fans through Rhythm Nation Records, when she wants and how she wants. And my word should we be grateful she’s even doing it at all.

-

Let’s keep the conversation going (by leaving your comments below)."

Janet is making a bold statement with the title. And I'm here for it! She's been through a lot in the last decade. And I think this is what the album will be about.

I absolutely love the cover art. The way she is staring at you dead on is brilliant. When I saw it I automatically thought of the Velvet Rope album cover. I remember seeing that cover the first time and being a little pissed off by it. Lol! That is until I got older and understood the meaning behind it. I love that Janet is going against the grain and staying true to herself. I've seen so many great reviews about the tour. I mean I have not seen not one bad review.

It's always astounded me how Katherine has pretty much looked the same for the past 40+ years (woman just does NOT age), while Joseph has very clearly aged. This may come across kind of mean considering he's 80, but I always just thought that was funny how one aged a certain way and another didn't.

Others beside Janet and Rebbie who aged well in the family would be Marlon and Tito nod The ones who aged the worst would be Jermaine and Latoya shake

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2
