'Martin' star Tisha Campbell-Martin returns to her first love with the new single, "Steel Here." On the new offering, the singer/actress affirms her staying power, letting the world know she will "paint the sky."

"This is where it all began for me. I am a singer first and acting came later. Being an actress is what I do but music is who I am," Campbell-Martin says in a statement. "For many people, acting was my genesis but music is my exodus. I feel most comfortable behind the mic. That's where I feel most at home. As an artist, I want to affect people. I like to make people laugh, think, shed a tear, heal...This outlet is important to me because I can connect to people in a different way."

Campbell-Martin is best for her long-standing role in the hit TV comedies 'Martin' and 'My Wife & Kids' as well as many others.

Hear Prince's Funky New Party Popper 'Stare'

Singer surprise-releases song on Spotify weeks after removing catalog from service

Prince lets loose in his new tune "Stare," a funky string of party-friendly, double-entendre come-ons and callbacks to his past. He sings about going onstage in his underwear and calls back his 1986 smash "Kiss" and its scratchy guitar line, interspersed with silly turns of phrase like "Second things first," all supporting his thesis, "we know you've got thirst." "Ain't nobody stoppin' 'cause we've got this party poppin'," he declares early, as he lets an elastic bass line connect the lyrics to bright horn fanfares and huffy, breathy vocals and a fake-out fadeout.

In typical Prince fashion, he surprise-released the song via Spotify. Earlier in the month, he had announced he was removing all of his music from the streaming service. "Prince's publisher has asked all streaming services to remove his catalog," a statement on the service read, according to Complex. "We have cooperated with the request, and hope to bring his music back as soon as possible." At the time, he left his catalog on Jay Z's high-def streaming service Tidal.

Spotify attributed the track to Prince, and not Prince with occasional backing group 3rdEyeGirl, which suggests he played most of the core instruments himself.

Although the singer put out two albums last year, he has been releasing non-album singles in 2015. In addition to "Stare," he recently put out the psychedelic 3rdEyeGirl collaboration "Hardrocklover" and his plea for peace "Baltimore."

He premiered the latter tune at a special "Rally 4 Peace" in Baltimore, held in the wake of riots protesting the death of Freddie Gray, a man who died under suspicious circumstances while in police custody. "The system is broken," Prince wrote in a statement that appears at the end of the video for the tune. "It's going to take the young people to fix it this time. We need new ideas, new life...."

Jack White’s Third Man Records serves as an institution in preserving and producing unique forms of art through the singer’s own personal influences. With the label’s headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, its presence is in the center of a community rich in music history and it’s growing; in June 2015, White announced he will open a new branch in his hometown of Detroit.

Since Third Man Records premiered in 2009 the multi-faceted venue has spawned many projects for White. From the debut of his rock supergroup, The Dead Weather, who performed at the opening of the independent record label to White making history by manufacturing the world's fastest record in 2014.

Jack White and his TMR brand have now unveiled a postcard-shaped flexi-disc which can be found beneath the back cover of a 2 LP 12-inch version of the previously distributed Jay Z record, Magna Carta Holy Grail, and is said to play a “super secret hidden track.”

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is finding strong success as a solo artist

Aerosmith lead vocalist Steven Tyler has finally started to pursue a career as a country music artist. This decision has been a venture that Tyler has wanted to explore for many years, and so far the industry has been rather receptive.

The rock frontman released the official music video for his first country single “If Love Is Your Name” on July 3. Less than a month since the track was premiered on country music radio and ABC's Good Morning America, the video has amassed more than seven million views on VEVO alone.

The success doesn't end there; according to Neilsen Music, 73,000 digital copies of “If Love Is Your Name” have been purchased thus far. Additionally, the video has been streamed over 4.6 million times and the song has been streamed another 1.9 million.

Tyler fully embraced the country music lifestyle with “If Love Is Your Name” by heading to the famed Blackbird Studios in Nashville, where he recorded his hit single the first day. The song was written with the assistance of Lindsey Lee and Eric Paslay (Rascal Flatts, Sheryl Crow).

Paslay would later remark that he was thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside Tyler. “It’s pretty wild. It’s like, ‘Holy crap’! I’m still mind-blown,” he told KNCI 105.1. “If someone would have told me even five months ago ‘Hey, Steven Tyler’s gonna record one of your songs,' I’d have been like, ‘Yeah, whatever.'”

"The first day in the studio I recorded a song that became my first single, and if 'Love is Your Name' then Nashville's my new girlfriend,” Tyler shared in a press statement. “I guess you could call that Beginner's Luck."

“If Love Is Your Name” is the first single from Steven Tyler's first studio album as a solo artist, however the odds of the record being released before the end of the year is unlikely. This is largely due to the fact that Tyler is currently out on the road alongside the members of Aerosmith rounding out the remainder of the rock band's Blue Army tour.

"I've got to find time to come back and record these songs after the Aerosmith tour," Tyler told USA Today. "But I flit from flower to flower, country to country, looking for good times and singing about the last time. That's what I'm putting into the country songs."

Friday night, in the midst of his Lollapalooza headlining set, Paul McCartney brought out Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes for a rousing performance of “Get Back,” The Beatles’ classic late-career single. Given Howard’s fiery blues sensibilities, the feature was a perfect fit, and the duo harmonized with great success before Howard herself took the helm for the second verse.
