Was that Patti Labelle singing?! No video but it sounded like Patti--if so, sounds as good as ever.

Wow, Nicki Minaj really is truly ignorant. How do you begin accepting an award then forget what the award was for? Straight up trifling and I'm proud that I'm not a fan of that hooker. rolleyes

Ironic that some of the best performances were from white artists.

Tori Kelly just gained a whole new R&B fanbase.

And Robin Thicke? He's not successful for nothing.

For real!!! Folks can say what will about Robin but the man can sing his ass off. And was the girl singing the Jackson 5 song Tori Kelly? Don't know who she is but she killed it!!!! nod

Is it just me or was Ciara a little spastic?

And for some reason I thought Janet was going to perform.

Kendrick Lamar was everything!

And BET will get into trouble for L'il Kim.

YES! I thought Janet was going to perform too and show'em how it's done!!! But oh well, it was great seeing her...she's still so very beautiful! The tribute performance wasn't bad either, but it wasn't better than the real thing by Ms. J.

Aside from seeing Janet, the only other performance that was exciting was the Bad Boy 20 year reunion.

Kendrick started it off promising.

But to Chris Brown et al, half-singing over an obnoxiously loud vocal track does not a performance make.

Chris, Omarion, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, please go home!

Anybody got a new stream? The one I was on was just outlawed! What's up with BET not wanting people to watch their show live on the internet? lol

So Ciara finally copped to being influenced by Janet huh? It's about time. I just remember when people compared her to Janet, she always denied any similarities.

Just a couple more comments about the show...

Diddy was the best part of the show along with the Janet tribute.
What's up with women having enormously huge asses and thighs? Its so unnatural looking. K. Michelle looks ridiculous. Do men honestly find that attractive?
What was up with Tamar's eyes?

Ok I'm done.

The thing is K. Michelle looked great before she had the butt surgery done. disbelief Tamar has never impressed me. She does way too much while performing and I believe it's to make up for the fact that she can't really sing all that well. Even K. Michelle is a better singer than Tamar is, but for some reason K's performance wasn't all that great either. confused It wasn't until Patti showed up to show'em how it's really done that the performance became watch worthy.

Janet's tribute seem more like a tribute to her choreographers than her. Ciara was a little sloppy.Even though Janet's intricate dances by Tina aren't easy to master. I think Chris Brown would have done better. But due to him; doing hooks on every other song on the radio this past year. His plate was too full to be included. Jason Derulo did ok.

It can't be denied that Chris is a phenomenal dancer. I don't care what an artist may do to ruin their image talent always win. Also their always one hit away from a comeback.

Janet is AGELESS! Her mere presence was enough for me. But I actually like how she made everyone think she was performing #NOSL333P! Then casually walked out. biggrin

The Diddy tribute was my favorite(minus the fall because of the trap door being opened) with Lil Kim's EPIC entrance.. That alone slayed it. Plus Chris's jumping off the stage dancing in the audience.

Also that note that Patti hit was AMAZING!

Agree! Those two things were the highlight of the night for me. I literally jumped up from my bed when Lil Kim came out!!! LOL Her presence is so fierce! Faith looked and sound good too!! I also loved how Smokey put all the youngins in their place. These new stars have crazy out of control egos!!!! They think they invented music.

Ciara has cited Janet as an influence in the past although I personally think she is more of a MJ stan. She talks about him way more but she still respects Janet nonetheless.

yes whats up with these folks not even knowing how to lip sync? chris brown cant dance and keep up with singing to the song at the same time, its like he gets thrown off so he just says fuck it and not even attepmt to look like he's singing.and then when he slows down the dancing and decides to sing he is so winded it sounds terrible.

Watching the 3 perform made me appreciate Janet even more. Ciara is a great dancer but as a longtime Janet fan I could instantly pull out the mistake being made. Janet's choreography is very intricate and precise. You really have to know what you are doing to master her moves or else you will just fuck everything up. That being said I appreciated them taking the time to pay tribute to her. I hope they at least got to talk to her.

The large majority of knowledgeable observers would agree that the

2015 BET Awards show performed up to its usual best quality standards.

Therefore, the excellent quality vocal (i.e Patti L's signature) and music performances, dancing,

comedy, rap performance, champion level sexy ladies, social consciousness and philanthropy

acknowledgement, actor and actress observances, and agile adaptation to the show conent to recent events.

The show always has a healthy portion of clear emphasis on the need for and efforts to

work to pursue and acheive robust egalitarian goals, deeds, and results.

The acceptance of the Humanitarian Award by Tom Joyner is one of multiple

examples of this principle at work in the 2015 Awards Show.

The show also does excellent work at inclusion of key members of multiple historical periods in

black entertainment and the interconnnections between presnt black entertainment and

older generations of black entertainers. The 1950s to the present was all included

(BB King tribute, Smokey Robinson, Patti Labelle, Charlie Wilson, P Diddy, Faith Evans,

Busta Rhymes, etc. etc.) , It quite honorable that the show chose to seek and received excellent,

comedic, clever, classy presenter performers from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for the Icon Award that was given to Janet .

The MC performances and bits from Anthony Anderson and Tracie Ellis Ross

were at least as funny, classy and clever as any mainstream awards show.

If missed it, look for it on the BET or Centric schedule and watch the re-broadcast.

You'll be glad you did. (I did not choose that small in those areas above)

That trend needs to stop immediately. A small waist with a mules ass does not look good. In fact I think it's grotesque. Tamar looked like she was about to go into cardiac arrest during her performance. So over the top.

Janet is VERY classy! It's the reason she is still so missed in the industry. They don't make them like that anymore.

I only saw the Smokey Robinson segment. He still sounds great. I was wondering if he had a bad plastic surgery job because it looks like the eyelift didn't go well? Anyway, his speech was the best I've heard in a long time.

I turned away when the guys from Empire were performing.
