On a lighter note I think I see why older people don't listen to pop music as much. Aside from the general young perspective of the form, there just comes a time when you're no longer interested in hearing about its themes which are relationships, relationships and oh, releationships.
That whole P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne train really annoyed me. And everyone else is doing the same thing. The you-did-me-wrong-I'm-so-much-better-than-this train.
At least when Janet did it it was new and pretty much for one album. Its all these new girls know.

This doesn't make sense. Older people believe it or not still have relationships, go through break ups and divorces etc. Love and relationships are the subject of most music with lyrics not just pop music since the beginning of time.
The problem with Pink, Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne is not their lyrical themes but that their music is so formulaic that they keep recording the same song musically over and over again. |
