Usually, the guest wears headphones with a built-in mic. They hauled out an old-fashioned mic/stand combo and earbuds for Madonna, as she didn't want to mess up her hair.
even madge looked like grandma dancing at the Grammies ...
I'm tired of ageist comments. When you're 56,how would you feel if people are ridiculing you?
people are so...
wow, i can't believe this interview finally happened.
*still in shock*
I guess it was kind of tame and planned. So obvious his plug for Ghost Town. And why ask her about Warren Beatty? what year is it? ask her if Vanilla ice is packing, shit

wow.....she looks like she has had some work done...........and behind that work she looks old (but she is buff!!)
You must be looking through the eyes of ageism--they all look great for their age, especially Madonna.
she once said on Letterman that she hates how Americans don't like to show their age, ,unlike Europeans who don't get plastic surgery...........but now if you look at her she has obviously had work done and looks like Melanie Griffith with a filled in upper lip, etc..............nothing against Madonna though - I love her
She is indeed a pop culture icon who has had a tremendous career.
But I have to say as a long-time listener of Howard's that I was not wowed by the interview. People are giving him props but he has done better interviews with other people, IMO. Madonna was way too guarded and did not really "get" the HSS. On the wrap-up show Jenny Mullen had what I thought was a spot-on opinion. She said that usually Howard manages to bring out a side of the person that you might not have seen before and it is endearing - but not in the case of Madonna. He managed to do this with Gwynetrh Paltrow, however - and I actually liked her more after the Howard interview. There was very little new info shared in the Madonna interview other than she once dated Tupac - and I did not find myself liking her any more or any less after the interview was over.

I don't see this at all. I thought she talked about some pretty personal things like her rape. It would be hard for her to reveal a lot of stuff that people don't know since so much has been written about her personal life in the media. The only thing she didn't want to talk about was why her marriages ended because she said they involved other people and she didn't want to invade their privacy which I thought was a very fair point that showed she has concern for other people. But then she did go on to say it's hard when you are a female and an artist to be married. (We all know Guy Ritchie wanted her to tone down some of the stuff she does.)
Maybe it's just me, but I don't really look to hear personal sexual things about musical artists in interviews. It all seems very tabloid to me. I liked it that they did also talk about her music and her career, not just personal things.
But personally I don't really listen to Howard Stern so I don't know what his interviews are usually like but I thought it was good. She actually revealed a lot and was more open than in some other interviews. But I don't see why musicians should be forced to reveal every personal detail about themselves. A few things are interesting, but I think you can reveal too much. I think she revealed enough to be interesting but still maintained her dignity and respect for other people.

Well, if you are not a regular Howard lsiterner then it makes sense that you liked it so much. His interviews are great, and those of us who are long-time fans can see the difference between them, which are just good and which are amazing.

I agree.I think it was a really good interview.
Don't know about recent Howard interviews, but it was definitely a good Madonna interview.
