Of course. Also he was involved on The Breaks and Christmas Rappin, Kurtis Blow debut was my first rap album I think

Hip Hop would have taken a different route without Smith, no doubt

Sad new, RIP sad

It's an annual Christmas tradition when I go to a certain friend's house to put on Christmas Rappin', it was only two days ago.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I just read it on Facebook. This is really sad news. I ´ve been following the Facebook page dedicated to him and it was sad to see how ill he was.

His contributions to HipHop are immeasurable. He created some of my all time favorite songs with Whodini.

May he rest in eternal peace.

Sad news indeed. I always noticed Larry Smith on the back of my early RunDMC and
Whodini records. He also produced a few tracks on ConFunkShun's Electric Lady album including the hit single of the same name.
Don't laugh at my funk
