How do you post videos?

Anyway Adele, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lavato including many others have cited Beyonce as an inspiration.

Even Paul McCartney cool

Just about every modern female singer who has broken out in the past five years couldn't hold a note or sing on key if their lives depended on it so who is going to pay any attention to what they have to say? lol

Looked this up and there are many more lesser known acts that see her as an inspiration. I'm quite surprised by how many people she has influenced. You win this one but as the person above me said, her accomplishments will be far more remembered than her music.

I agree on that point as well HOWEVER, Single ladies (Put a ring on it), Irreplacable, Crazy in Love and a couple of her hits on DC, Survivor, Bootylicious, and Say my name etc. will be remembered for years to come biggrin

Oh yes. Beyonce fans are already quite vocal about their adoration. Can you imagine when Beyonce passes?? (I can, since her husband referred to her as the greatest "living" entertainer while presenting her the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award. eek )

Not in the commercial sense. The radio still plays her dated songs NOW, and the Destiny's Child hits.

She's a club artist for the most part making booty shaking tracks and the material while catchy isn't going to age well as a whole legacy. Is she still going to be singing about being shitfaced on her kitchen floor in 15 years with any conviction?

You mean when she is Jay-Z's age who is featured in the same song? Yes.

Yeah the same Jay Z who hasn't spit profound verse in over a decade.

Exactly, you don't learn the title 'Legend', you just be a legend, Beyoncé is good at being one.

Look guys, your 3rd grandson or future next door teenager won't care about what you think, Beyoncé will be marketed as legend for the next decade, if she deserves it or not, it doesn't matter. You'll see MTV showing her (iconic) videos all the time, on her birthdays you'll see artists appreciating her, you'll see younger acts saying if it wasn't for Beyoncé I would not do music, this is what matters, it's the media, even if it's a silly propaganda, paid for maybe, it's not important. Beyoncé is on her way to be put side aside with MJ, Madonna and such.

grudgingly admits, yes, she will be rolleyes . Whether deservingly so or not, she will. Daddy made sure of that years ago. She doesn't have to change her formula and will further cement her place. Unfortunately, that's one of her main problems...success. I'd love to see her dig deeper though. You would think, after so many hits and years of success, she'd be more willing to take chances. But when your music career is so tied up in your endorsement deals, etc. I guess it makes it hard to venture out and try new things. She's such a proud product at this stage, can't see her doing that yet.

Only is a marketing sense.

Does she have talent?

Yes, but her material is below the mark set for people whom we called Legends.

Pop music is becoming the all purpose, non purpose music of the ages.

Releasing an album ('Beyonce') with zero notice and a video for every song was taking a chance though, especially after 4 flopped hard.

Definition of "Legend" by the Oxford Dictionary:

An extremely famous or notorious person, especially in a particular field

http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/legend

By this definition then yes, Beyonce is a legend. As is Justin Beiber, Rihanna, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and her family and various others nod

ETA: Interesting that this topic is brought up, right now there's a thread about Usher over on Lipstick Alley about how he has been in the business for 20 years now. Some folks over there are calling him a legend too.

The only legend I see coming out of the ranks here is Bruno Mars. The rest of them can kick rocks as far as I am concerned. But yeah Usher might be considered a legend at some point, so no shade at him at all smile

Yeah I think this broad is overrated like nobody's business and her 15 minutes have been up for a while. She's only "relevant" because they pay off the media to not say anything bad about them. Sorry but her skin is getting whiter and her nose is gettin smaller but nobody in the media is calling her out for it? Please. Someone wake me when the snooze fest is over. She's an overrated showgirl, bottom line lol

Long live, Bruno Mars!!!!!!!!

The question is will Beyonce be a legend? And the answer to that is no. Now, will she be marketed as a legend, probably so.... but that still technically does not make her a legend. You need CLASSICS and CLASSIC albums to be a legend period. How are you going to be a legend if no one knows none of your songs or if your songs won't be playing 50 years from now? How are you going to be a legend if none of your songs made a impact on people? Not to mention, she has not made a massive significant impact or innovation to the music industry. While marginally talented, she is all hype. You can get any black girl who professionally dances, put a blond weave on her, do her face up and give her a skimpy outfit and get her to do Beyonce's act and some can do it better. What she does is not original or groundbreaking. Her success is a fluke and undeserving. The industry will market her as a legend but she will not be amongst the general public.
