I definitely think it's bullshit. I mean c'mon Solange spit on the man. She got some pure hatred for Jay-z. I honestly think it had to do with Jay-z flirting with some another woman at the Met Gala and that's why Solange went off on him....I don't think she had to get physical maybe a good cussing out but that's what I think happened.

Jay-Z didn't touch her, so there was no reason for Solange's ignorant behavior. One day she'll try that shit on the wrong person and get a rude awakening.

This.

NEWS/

You'll Never Believe How Much the Solange-Jay Z Fight Tape Reportedly Sold For

The video of Solange Knowles allegedly attacking Jay Z in an elevator at the Standard Hotel after the Met Gala has been viewed nearly six million times on YouTube, has generated a slew of memes and has remained a top Internet trend all week.

So it should go without saying that the viral clip, obtained by TMZ, was sold for a serious chunk of change—a number which may even raise Beyoncé's eyebrows.

Page 6 reports that the tape was sold for $250,000 after "being shopped for five days to the highest bidder."

The tabloid also reports that the Standard Hotel has hired Hollywood lawyer Marty Singerto investigate who sold the tape. "There are only a handful of people who'd have access to that tape," said the source. "The Standard owns that tape." But, "Once it was out, Jay Z's people felt they couldn't control it. They were reluctant to try and publicly fight this."

Another source told E! News that TMZ bought the video from a female security guard. The source was told she received between $50,000 to 100,000 for it.

The shocking clip, which was recorded May 5, shows four people, presumably, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Solange and a bodyguard entering the elevator before the aggravated woman, who is presumed to be Solange, begins yelling at the gentleman in white (purportedly Jay Z) before launching into a violent attack.

While it's unclear what initially provoked Solange, Page 6 reports that the singer has recently gone through a great deal of turmoil after starting her own record label, Saint Records. "She used to be on [Jay Z's] label [Roc Nation], but now she isn't. And she moved to New Orleans from Brooklyn with her son. Solange still spends a lot of time in New York, but she is further away from her family, which has created some issues."

Additionally, the singer shared a few fighting words with Rachel Roy before brawl.

According to a source, "Solange and Rachel Roy got into an argument prior to the elevator incident," which apparently provoked the singer.

Roy has known the Knowles family for years as she used to be married to Jay Z's ex-partner Dame Dash, and yesterday, after the tape was released, Dash posted a picture on Instagram of Solange with the caption "I am actually impressed with her independent spirit, she seems like a fighter."

As for what sent Solange over the edge?

"Jay said something inappropriate to Beyoncé and Solange, and she snapped," a source told People. "When they got in the elevator, it escalated quickly the way family tensions can. It got exceptionally heated the way family moments can."

"Solange is super protective of Beyoncé," the insider added.

I heard that the security person was fired. I guess she will have to get by on that quarter mill.

So according to you, any man that is forced to defend himself against a woman that is physically trying to hurt OR kill him is basically not a man? Therefore, in order to maintain his manhood, a man must allow a woman to hurt and/or kill him and get away with it.

With all due respect NurseV, that professional opinion of your is 100+% pure bullshit. rolleyes

wtf! my profession has nothing to do with it. for that matter every time you post your opinion has to be right? fuck you! again i say any man that hits a women aint shit and neither are you.

Yeah I don't like all this talk about when it's okay to hit women. Too many women experience domestic violence in the first place so the eagerness of being able to hit women in situations like these makes me uncomfortable. I mean I don't think anyone should put hands on anyone and I think Solange was absolutly wrong, but there other ways to deal with these situations.

Bullshit! If a woman had sexually molested someones child, would you really say that a man attacking this person was NOT A MAN? C'mon? Seriously? This pride thing is important to have, but there's a line. I protect all women, but don't say never. There are situations where you can't really defend cruel women. This has nothing to do with Solange. As this is taken out of context, and the situation didn't evolve into something dangerous.

But if a situation had become dangerous, and your only option was to protect yourself with violence, you'd choose that before death any day. Us as human can't promote violence against men just because they're supposed to handle it. Not all men are built like bulldozers and can protect themselves without actually attacking in self defense. Again this has nothing to do with this particular situation, as it never went that far, and they had a bodyguard there.

That "under any circumstance" is totally bullshit. I wouldn't believe you for a second if the right situation had happened. Please!

were not talking about molestation! stop trying to turn my statement into something else. just like the org trying make shit what its not.

If you read your own words, you used a sentence saying... any man that would hit a woman under any circumstance is NOT A MAN. Can you explain what under any circumstance means? It is more or lesse translatable to "within any context" or "no matter what situation". You shouldn't have used those words, if you don't want it to be used against you. The way it's said, sounds like it's a rule that is to be used no matter what. I know what context this thread was talking about, but you made it sound like something within any context. What we saw on this video doesn't look like he needed to do anything. Thank god.

I'm starting to get the feeling this is yet another highly successful publicity stunt pulled off by none other than Beyonce. That broad will do ANYTHING for media coverage.

Agreed. This happened a week ago and it's just now being leaked right when Dr. Dre becomes the world's richest hip-hop artist/mogul. Someone said that perhaps it took a week to leak the video because of negotiations with TMZ? Either way, it seems that TMZ always manages a way to get breaking news. Are they the NSA or something?

We already disproved this dumb theory... you still have not shown receipts to prove other wise

I believe SNL did a COMEDIC BIT this weekend d on how it was a PR stunt....lol.

I might try to get famous myself this way. Let a woman trow some punches and kicks at me in an elevator. Letter get me real good. Maybe get a bloody and broke nose. Maybe a broke limb. I'm sure that will get me real famous.

fantastic cover! That song was begging for a remake or to be sampled. I want a HQ/studio version. The arrangement sounds very well placed for this song.

She's weird. I just read about her having had a public fit on Dev Hynes / Blood Orange, who's recently done songs for her, apparently completely unprovoked. Some journalists had pointed out that she had no real input on those songs and that Dev had completed them on his own and she had only replaced his vocals. She then took it out on him (!) and they are no longer in speaking terms.

I read about that. Not optimistic that the album she's working on now will be up to much if he's not on board. Shame, as I think True is really good.

She didn't have to go public with it. If she wrote or co-wrote the songs then good for her. Songwriters go unnoticed anyways, at least they used to before our 24 hour news cycle. Solange just MIGHT have a little bit of an attitude and just a SMIDGE of a short temper.
