Solange doesn't meet the qualifications of a Prince Girl. no no no!

And what qualifications would that be? She is every bit as attractive as Andy and a better singer.

On the other hand, if you mean that she isn't submissive and dim-witted enough then I agree

You'll Never Believe How Much the Solange-Jay Z Fight Tape Reportedly Sold For

The video of Solange Knowles allegedly attacking Jay Z in an elevator at the Standard Hotel after the Met Gala has been viewed nearly six million times on YouTube, has generated a slew of memes and has remained a top Internet trend all week.

So it should go without saying that the viral clip, obtained by TMZ, was sold for a serious chunk of change—a number which may even raise Beyoncé's eyebrows.

Page 6 reports that the tape was sold for $250,000 after "being shopped for five days to the highest bidder."

The tabloid also reports that the Standard Hotel has hired Hollywood lawyer Marty Singerto investigate who sold the tape. "There are only a handful of people who'd have access to that tape," said the source. "The Standard owns that tape." But, "Once it was out, Jay Z's people felt they couldn't control it. They were reluctant to try and publicly fight this."

Another source told E! News that TMZ bought the video from a female security guard. The source was told she received between $50,000 to 100,000 for it.

The shocking clip, which was recorded May 5, shows four people, presumably, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Solange and a bodyguard entering the elevator before the aggravated woman, who is presumed to be Solange, begins yelling at the gentleman in white (purportedly Jay Z) before launching into a violent attack.

While it's unclear what initially provoked Solange, Page 6 reports that the singer has recently gone through a great deal of turmoil after starting her own record label, Saint Records. "She used to be on [Jay Z's] label [Roc Nation], but now she isn't. And she moved to New Orleans from Brooklyn with her son. Solange still spends a lot of time in New York, but she is further away from her family, which has created some issues."

Additionally, the singer shared a few fighting words with Rachel Roy before brawl.

According to a source, "Solange and Rachel Roy got into an argument prior to the elevator incident," which apparently provoked the singer.

Roy has known the Knowles family for years as she used to be married to Jay Z's ex-partner Dame Dash, and yesterday, after the tape was released, Dash posted a picture on Instagram of Solange with the caption "I am actually impressed with her independent spirit, she seems like a fighter."

As for what sent Solange over the edge?

"Jay said something inappropriate to Beyoncé and Solange, and she snapped," a source told People. "When they got in the elevator, it escalated quickly the way family tensions can. It got exceptionally heated the way family moments can."

"Solange is super protective of Beyoncé," the insider added.

Yeah I don't like all this talk about when it's okay to hit women. Too many women experience domestic violence in the first place so the eagerness of being able to hit women in situations like these makes me uncomfortable. I mean I don't think anyone should put hands on anyone and I think Solange was absolutly wrong, but there other ways to deal with these situations.

The days of women throwing hot grits on guys and getting away with it are over.

Equality is a double-edged sword. Be careful what you ask for.

People of all genders are required to take personal responsibility these days.

So, EVERYBODY hands off! That's the rule.

I agree that everyone should keep their hands to themselves, but just because someone gets phsyical with you doesn't mean you have to also. That goes for men vs men, women vs women, or men vs women. I don't see what equality has to do with a man hitting a woman back. Equality doesn't have anything to do with violence. As I said before there's other ways to deal with it because responding with more violence never ends well.

Hotel Fires Security Guard Who Leaked the Video
May 15th
Link

A hotel where someone recorded security video appearing to show Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles, attacking Jay Z inside an elevator said Wednesday it had identified and fired the person.

The Standard Hotel said the person had been terminated for "breaching the security polices of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video."

Celebrity website TMZ posted the 3-minute video on Monday and said it was shot last week inside a Standard Hotel elevator.

The video appears to show Solange attacking Jay Z in Beyonce's presence. A security guard intervenes. The footage shows the performers in the outfits they wore to the Met Gala last week. There is no audio.

The hotel said after the video was first aired that it was "shocked and disappointed" by the security breach. It said Wednesday that it will turn over "all available information to criminal authorities."

Solange Knowles Shares #ThrowbackThursday Pic With Beyoncé After Mysterious Instagram Cleanup

Solange Knowles is breaking her silence—sort of.

Days after the R&B diva deleted all but one Instagram picture that featured her sisterBeyoncé, the singer shared a new #ThrowbackThursday picture on the social networking site. The vintage photo shows the Texas-born siblings wearing matching plaid outfits and resting their heads on their hands.

Unfortunately, the "Sandcastle Disco" singer didn't provide any context in the caption. Was it a sign that she's on good terms with Beyoncé after she attacked Jay Z after the Met Gala last week? Or was it her way of saying she misses the good ol' days, before the "Holy Grail" rapper was in their lives?

"IM SO CONFUSED," an Instagram user wrote. Meanwhile, another user argued, "She loves her sister."

Knowles has yet to explain why she removed dozens of pictures of the 17-time Grammy Award winner. Hours before she posted the #TBT photo, Beyoncé shared four pictures of her lil' sis on Instagram.

NEWS: TV hosts weigh in on the alleged Solange and Jay Z feud

After surveillance footage of Knowles attacking her brother-in-law was leaked online, The Standard Hotel vowed to take immediate action. On Thursday, the Meatpacking District-based company issued a statement to E! News. "The Standard has identified the individual responsible for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video released by TMZ," it said. The Standard has already terminated the individual and will now be pursuing all available civil and criminal remedies. The Standard will next be turning over all available information to the criminal authorities."

Reps for Knowles, Beyoncé and Jay Z have declined repeated requests for comment. They have also remained silent via their social media accounts.

Solange and Jay Z's Elevator Fight: What They're Saying About It on Today, The View and More Shows

Solange Knowles and Jay Z are staying mum about the elevator altercation that took place as they left The Standard's Boom Boom Room in New York City last week, but it seems as if nearly everyone else has something to say. Surveillance footage surfaced Monday, showing the "I Decided" singer attacking her brother-in-law as Beyoncé stood still. A bodyguard attempted to restrain Knowles multiple times.

The video went viral, with "Solange" earning 1.2 million Twitter mentions, "Jay Z" earning 1 million Twitter mentions and "#WhatJayZSaidtoSolange" earning 268,000 Twitter mentions. The altercation also inspired countless memes, and for a brief period on Monday, Knowles' Wikipedia page was edited to include three new occupational titles: "kicker," "street fighter" and "Jay Z's 100th problem."

On NBC's Today Tuesday, Matt Lauer joked that his colleague Natalie Morales had inside information. "I have theories, just like everybody else does!" she said. "You all know what I'm talking about!"

Later in the show, Hoda Kotb shared her own unfounded theory. "I was picturing me and my sister in the elevator. So we get in, my husband's there, and my sister starts going off on my husband. The first thing I would do if my sister was either crazy or drunk or out of her mind is jump in between and separate the two and get in the middle of it," she said. "You don't want anyone hitting your husband, unless you think your sister has a point. So you sit quietly and go 'Mmm...Oh, I'm sorry I'm not stepping in I've got nothing to do with it.'" Kotb continued to speculate, saying, "When they leave the elevator and they leave the place, there's Solange—she looks upset—there's Beyoncé—she looks pretending to be fine—and Jay Z, but the two sisters leave together in a car and Jay Z goes in a separate car."

Morales and Kotb weren't the only ones to dissect the footage, however. On ABC's The View, Whoopi Goldberg shared her two cents. "I think Solange heard Jay Z say something to her sister that she didn't like," she said, adding, "I was not there. This is me sitting at my house going, 'What the hell?'"

Sherri Shepherd took issue with Beyoncé's perceived standoffishness. "I don't care what my husband does. You don't put your hands on my man," she said. She then used a Real Housewives of Atlanta reference to illustrate her point. "I think Beyoncé let her sister assault her husband because, look, if her husband had assaulted her sister, it would've been a whole different thing," she said. "I remember watching Real Housewives and [NeNe Leakes] got in [Peter Thomas'] face and [Cynthia Bailey] didn't do anything, and I sat there and went, 'How are you gonna let somebody get in your man's face like that?'" She later said, "You know for Beyoncé to sit there and let it happen, something did go down."

Goldberg was surprised Jay Z showed restraint. "I think Solange was quite ready for him to do whatever he was going to do. This is the thing: if anybody hits you, you have the right [to hit back]," she argued. "I know many people are raised in a very different way, but if a woman hits you, to me, you have a right to hit her back...If I slap a man, he has every right to slap me back. Every right!"

Meanwhile, on Wendy Williams' eponymous talk show, the TV host said, "It's amazing how the world has let go of everything else important and is talking about this." She then devoted nine minutes to the topic. "This footage probably made somebody rich!" she said. "The only thing that would make somebody richer is the person who's got the audio." (The Standard is currently investigating the leak.)

"People have been speculating and saying, 'Why didn't Beyoncé get in the middle? ' In my mind, Beyoncé didn't get in the middle because Solange was probably attacking him over something that he knows he was dead wrong about, and therefore, sister didn't get in the middle," the outspoken TV personality surmised. "Beyoncé and the security guard were standing there like, 'Look, this is nothing new between Solange and Jay Z.' It didn't look like something new. Otherwise wouldn't you have jumped in the way and stopped it if you were Beyoncé?...She just stood there in a very delicate dress. If she did much more, a boob would pop out, because she was wearing that very revealing dress."

In Williams' mind, Knowles was likely defending Beyoncé. "Your marriage is sacred. There aren't too many reasons, I think, that a sister would get in the way and start pummeling in a public venue," she explained. "The elevator was private but everybody knows the cameras were watching and they were stepping out to the paparazzi. This is Beyoncé and Jay Z! I don't think she was out of her mind."

The world may never know what happened—the parties involved aren't speaking—but it seems likely that people will be talking about that elevator ride for years to come.

A true Prince Girl basically has a combination of multiracial/multiculturial exotic looks. Shelia & Mayte are perfect examples of that. A Prince Girl also know how to make her body rock, as in the case of Cat & Mayte.

Solange doesn't fit the mold of a Prince Girl at all. Better yet, Nicole (ex-PCD) & Rihanna are a lot closer to being a Prince Girl than Solange, my professional opinion of course. wink

Jay Z & Solange

Elevator Fight Was Both Our Faults

'Families Have Problems'

26 minutes ago BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

0512-jay-z-solange-tmz-01
Jay Z
and Solange are finally addressing the infamous elevator fight video ... saying BOTH sides are to blame for the violence that unfolded.

Jay Z, Solange, and Beyonce released the joint statement moments ago, saying, "Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."

The statement continues, "The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different."

"We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

The statement still doesn't explain what caused the fight, but Jay and Solange say they have worked through it.

I definitely think it's bullshit. I mean c'mon Solange spit on the man. She got some pure hatred for Jay-z. I honestly think it had to do with Jay-z flirting with some another woman at the Met Gala and that's why Solange went off on him....I don't think she had to get physical maybe a good cussing out but that's what I think happened.

Solange Release Damage Co... Statement

Solange Knowles makes first public appearance since elevator incident

Power couple Jay Z and Beyonce are desperate to control the damage to their carefully crafted public image following Solange Knowles’ embarrassing meltdown in a viral video. The surveillance video which was leaked by a former NYC hotel employee showed Jay Z being pummeled unmercifully by Solange in the elevator of a posh NYC hotel on May 5th.

The video went viral, sparking rampant speculation about what may have prompted the savage beat down.

Normally, Beyonce doesn’t respond to idle gossip from the lessers, but Bey and Jay took the uncharacteristic step of releasing a statement to try and contain the damage.

In addition to releasing a statement, Beyonce and Jay Z called the paparazzi to snap photos of Solange embracing her much older boyfriend, Alan Ferguson, in a park near their home in New Orleans.

Their goal was to portray Solange as a normal woman who has healthy interactions with men — and not the crazed, unhinged mental case that insiders claim she is.

The singer wore a thin yellow dress and was seen embracing the older man and laughing while checking messages on her Smartphone.

Below is the full text of the statement:

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred.

They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.

The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day, families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”
