In this thread, we name all of the music biopics And, which are your favorite and least favorites.
The new JAMES BROWN picture turned me on to this thread.
There have been countless music biopics, lets name them all here.
Some artist even have multiple biopics, even relatively knew artist have stories on them.
Also, as a bonus in these biopics, other artist make cameos, either a peer, or someone they loked up too. For example, "The Jacksons: An American Dream" features Jackie Wilson, Diana Ross and Berry Gordy Jr, none of which have a bipics out ... yet. PRINCE: Always and Forever

There was a movie about The Monkees, but I've never seen it. I saw parts of Backbeat (The Beatles) when it came out, but not the whole thing. Here's some movies I can think of at the moment:
The Temptations Buddy Holly Story La Bamba Selena The Glenn Miller Story (Jimmy Stewart) The Karen Carpenter Story Backbeat Daydream Believers Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story Little Richard Elvis (Kurt Russell) What's Love Got To Do With It Amedeus Great Balls Of Fire Bird You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

There were 2 Osmonds movies, one in the 1980s where Marie plays their mother called Side by Side: The True Story of the Osmond Family and one from 2001 Inside The Osmonds. I'm Not There exactly because it wasn't a biopic. It was more of an "interpretation" of Bob Dylan by several actors. I've said it before and I'll say it again, screenwriters and movie directors should stick to fiction and leave the true stories to biographers and documentaries.

I love love biopics.. my favorite type of movie. I have watched a few where I didn't really care about the person's music before but after I did. My favorites are The Temptations (Best made-for-tv biopic, imo) La Bamba, Ray, Coal Miner's Daughter, Selena, Walk the Line, The Jacksons: An American Dream, What's Love Got To Do With It?, Life with Judy Garland, The Buddy Holly Story, Lady Sings the Blues and Great Balls of Fire. Of course there are the "loosely based upon" movies like Purple Rain and Sparkle. I wanted to love Dreamgirls but I hate musicals so that one is out. I know they don't count beacause the band is fictional but I love the Eddie and the Cruisers movies.. (anyone else? lol) [Edited 3/24/14 18:59pm] Everybody stop on the 1...GOOD GOD! Uhh!
