not mad at all. Y'all want me to be though. lol It's you guys opinion she's great. It's others that she is not. Y'all need to be okay with that.

but this thread is not about if you like her or think shes great or not. based on the criteria for induction into the rock n roll hall, and the artists thats already in there, does janet based solely on her accomplishments and impact deserve to be in.

The criteria is who they want to put in, that's all. It doesn't really have much to do with anything else. How much impact does Percy Sledge have? razz It's doubtful he has any huge sales or a lot of hits either.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I'm not trying to be cool. And I don't have to show her respect. It does not make anyone a "hater" simply because they disagree with you guys. I could list every reason I believe she should not get in and you guys would not care. Sooooo.....my suggestion is that you all ignore my posts and keep moving.

Oh, I don't want you to be mad. I just want you to show respect. What I take issue with is people degrading and downgrading her legacy because it's the "cool" thing to do. [Edited 2/28/14 10:42am]

I don't think the RHOF is relevant or their opinion matters and like plenty have said there are more deserving artists that should technically be inducted before her although she deserves to get in to. The fact still remains Janet is underrated. Unfornately, I think Janet will get her rightful respect once God forbid something serious happens to her. I just think that the industry should tribute and acknowledge their music legends and icons while they are still alive to witness and appreciate them. It should not have to take the passing of an artist for the industry to finally respect them. I just think its sad because it is almost like the industry is trying to erase her legacy. She has had the same amount of influence on today's entertainers as Madonna has and is hardly ever mentioned. No female pop artist today has released an album as influential, socially conscious and daring as Rhythm Nation but no one never talks about that.

Agreed, 100%

There's not being a fan, and then there's spouting silly untruths that hold absolutely no weight. Disagreeing and trolling are two different things, and it's the trolls who I have issues with.
