I really like it. Her best since 'We Belong Together.' In the video she looks almost as good as she did in the 'Butterfly' video 17 years ago. Trey Songz is attractive in the video but she should have pulled his pants down.

I won't even dare to listen to the remix; Trey Songz is intolerable.

The song is just ok but her vocals sound great. Nothing I would waste money on though. I hate how she tries hard to be sexy all the time in her videos. It always turns out to look cheap and elementary. A dress some sunglasses, purse and shoes would be fine. Sometimes it's the simple things that creates masterpieces.

nod Same here. The song hardly needs a guy that sounds like a billy goat added to it.

All of her videos seem to have the same message: "look how sexy and beautiful I am" lol she seems to be an extremely vain woman, lol

I like and prefer the version with just Mariah. I wish she'd stop trying to push Trey on us. he's opened a few shows for her in the past among other things. I will say that this song is truly the only song outside of #Beautiful that I have liked and it is definitely first single material. she just has to work this song now.

Mariah stepped up her promo campaign for the new single in a big way on Valentine's Day when she wore a bra made completely of candy. razz

I like it. It reminds me of "We Belong Together." She looks absolutely beautiful! Hope she NAILS that "hit!" Since Minnie Riperton, there haven't really been any "Whistle Register" Queens aside of say, Shanice, Chante, Marva (King) or Debelah (Morgan). smile

Mariah likely has yet another failed single from this project.

According to Billboard, the single entered the Hot 100 at # 88. "You're Mine" had an anemic 32,000 downloads in its first week out.

I'm sure she'll try once again, with yet another new single before the album comes out lol the strategy seems to be: keep throwing these singles at the wall and see if anything sticks.

Jennifer Hudson's new single "I Can't Describe" (produced by Pharrell) is superb. It's better than any of these recent Mariah Carey songs.

AGREED! That joint izz BANGIN'!!! I just mentioned 2 my other 1/2 last night that it's too bad Mariah isn't doin' the kind of stuff that Jennifer's doin'. A fresh new sound that harks back to Old School R&B of the 90's. Also noteworthy is Ledisi's "I Blame You;" It's fresh and modern yet retains an Old School musicality. Sadly, Mariah seems 2b stuck in a sound that was, for a season, really hot, but not anymore. She needs 2 step up her game (and production.) I love her vocals tho. Silky and still stunning after all these years. smile

That's because I can't describe is basically "love come down" by Evelyn Champagne King, which is a classic song. I love how these newer acts are stealing old songs and trying to pass them off as orignal. Everyone has picked up on Blurred Lines being a rip off but not "I can't describe".

I did pick up on the similarity of Evelyn's "Love Come Down", however, I still think Jennifer's "I Can't Describe" is a fun and flirty song. In fact, I like it better than Evelyn's original.

Agreed. And it deserves a better reception than it's getting. I just looked at Jennifer's chart performance for that song and the best it was able to muster was #29 on the R&B side. Maybe that's why still no release date for the album. They are probably planning to release another single to see if it fares any better. I know a lot of artists are concentrating on singles instead of albums but single releases don't seem to work as well for veteran artists or artists who have a more mature fanbase. I know I tend to avoid buying singles in anticipation of getting an entire album.

Whatever the case,it's a superb song headbang Mariah herself has sampled/borrowed elements from old songs, too.
