For ONCE, Brother Questlove, also known as Mouth Almighty and Tongue Everlasting, i.e. the man who talks more shit than your 70 year granny at Bingo night, has kept his trap shut. I don't know whether to be more worried at that or relieved. I half expect him to post a pic of D in his hospital room.

I am hoping for D'Angelo to recover from his medical emergency and to take care of his personal issues. However, Questlove being mum is what he should do more often when it comes to D's music. Questlove is a musician, not a music critic. Deeming D's record as a "masterpiece" or using praiseworthy superlatives to describe music not heard by the general public is part of the reason D's seclusion from music has been this long. Let the music speak for itself.

Questlove should shut it, period, but for some reason, he has appointed himself as D's mouthpiece. I'm not believing shit till Alan Leeds speaks.

Alan stated that the cd was dropping in August.

I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Well.............August isn't over just yet but if a project was coming out, there would or should be some buzz or a single 2 get people ready.

I LOVE D, but I seriously feel, given his past history, this is drug related. What kills me is that his management isn't trying to hide or squash that talk or the fact that it happened. That speaks volumes

D’Angelo Cancels Amsterdam Concert After Falling Off Stage

Frank Micelotta, Getty Images

Eager fans awaiting D’Angelo‘s return to the stage were given a sign of hope last week when he emerged in Stockholm, performing for the first time for an audience in over a decade. Now, news comes that the veteran R&B crooner’s latest show, set to occur today (Jan. 30) in Amsterdam, was canceled due to an unexpected accident he experienced.

D’Angelo, born Michael Eugene Archer, was scheduled to perform at Paradiso in Amsterdam Monday. However, the 37-year-old ‘Brown Sugar’ creator fell off the stage before he even had a chance to grab hold of the mic. A concertgoer shared the exclusive news with The BoomBox.

“The doors were supposed to open at 7[PM],” the source tells The BoomBox. “There were a couple hundred people waiting in line. They opened the doors to the venue at about [7:20PM] and a few guys from the venue — bouncers I guess — came outside and informed the crowd that D’Angelo had fallen from the stage last night, and will not be performing tonight.”

The insider reveals that D’Angelo will be rescheduling the concert for Thursday night (Feb. 2).

“Most people were a bit down and disheartened. But after 10-[plus] years waiting, another few days is nothing,” the source states.

The Paradiso show is just one of the sets included in D’Angelo’s D-Tour, which reportedly concludes Feb. 3. Below are the dates.

Feb. 2: Amsterdam, NL Paradiso
Feb. 3 – 4: London, UK Brixton Academy
Feb. 6: Oslo, Norway Sentrum Scene
Feb. 7: Zurich, Switzerland Palais Xtra
Feb. 9: Amsterdam, NL Paradiso
Feb. 10: Stockholm, Sweden Filadelphia Church

D'Angelo Cancels Outside Lands Performance Due to 'Medical Emergency'

Instead, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers will perform on Friday.

R&B/soul singer D'Angelo will not be appearing at Outside Lands.

San Francisco's annual summer music festival, which takes place in Golden Gate Park from Aug. 9-11, announced Wednesday that "due to a medical emergency," the artist would not be performing Friday.

Disco group Chic featuring Nile Rodgers will take over D'Angelo's slot closing the night at the Sutro Stage from 6:05-7:05 p.m. Chic is known for songs like "Good Times," "Le Freak" and "I Want Your Love," while Rodgers most recently collaborated with Daft Punk.

"We hope that D'Angelo has a speedy recovery, and we are grateful to Nile Rodgers and Chic for stepping in at this late hour," said Another Planet Entertainment's Allen Scott in a statement. "Chic is still one of the greatest live bands around and I can guarantee that they are going to bring the party to Outside Lands on Friday."

D'Angelo's cancellation at Outside Lands comes after the singer nixed a slew of tour dates in cities like Chicago, San Diego and Minneapolis due to an unspecified medical issue.

When did he perform in Detroit? The last gig he played was in London last month. I think whatever is going on with D is mad serious and to me, there is no doubt that it is drugs. I remember in that car accident 10 years ago, it was a lot more serious than initially came out. I also remember last summer, he missed a festival gig in Europe due to "food poisoning."

I suggest his backup singers find a new gig. One of his backup singers doesn't have to worry about that, cause I think they were kicked to the curb. *ahem*.

The single was suppose to drop on July 4th, followed by the album in late august/early september.

I heard someone talking this morning, saying he was here this past weekend at Chene Park. Not sure since I don't really listen to the radio that much and I don't really keep up with who's in town.

Just out of curiousity, is old boy even a huge draw in the states anymore? I know he is in Europe. I mean, at this point, if the album came out tomorrow, could he do a headlining tour?

Plenty of people would like to see D'Angelo perform in the states... Seems to be a real damper on threads about seeing either old or new artists lately... The most enthusiastic thread is on Bruno Mars--think I'll look at that one again...

I get that they want to see him perform, but my question was, is he a viable headlining act now in the states?

At this time, I would say no, unfortunately...
