There's Beatallica, a cross of The Beatles & Metallica. This is from their new album, they have 3 or 4 previous albums.

Here's a tribute band (California Transit Authority) that was formed by a member (Danny Seraphine) of the original group (Chicago). Bill Champlin, who was in the 1980s lineup of Chicago is also a member. They also do original material.

PBS has shown this Australian Pink Floyd tribute several times, usually during a pledge week.

One of the better Beatles tribute bands is founded by David Letterman bassist (and many other credits) Will Lee.
They don't try to look like them and understand that to recreate the sound live, more than four musicians are required.

The Fab Faux...

Recording And Your Bird Can Sing with Beatles engineer...

...Geoff Emerick

Love cover bands HATE tribute bands. Cover bands play the MUSIC only. I hate how tribute bands, go out of their way to dress, talk, act and look like they people they are supposedly paying "tribute" to. It reduces their act as a mockery of the band or artist' music they "love". Especially when it comes to Prince tribute bands. These hacks profit off of these performances and it is sickening. If you respect a musician, play their music in your own way. Fuck all the other shit!

I tend to agree. I don't even need to hear cover bands pay stuff their own way, they can play it like the record if they're good enough to pull it off. But these groups that put so much focus on copying the outfits, getting the right looking pickup on their Les Paul copy, copping the bass player's facial expressions, that's some corny ass shit.

Unless youre doing a KISS tribute band in which case I'm gonna make fun of you if your pyro is weak and the bass player's tongue is only 3 inches long.
