I really liked "Locked Out Of Heaven" the first time I heard it, but there was a long wait for the album, and in the meantime the radio (and cafes, and stores) played it into the ground. Even this magazine cover seems late.

lol Well I like to buy magazines and a lot of them are very "on time".

Like this month's Interview cover is A$AP Rocky.

Bruno Mars' Screen Test

Pop star goes silent for RS cover shoot film

MAY 2, 2013 1:00 PM

Director Sam Hayes didn't want to create a traditional behind-the-scenes video when he filmed photographer Theo Wenner's Bruno Mars Rolling Stone cover shoot, so he created a short silent film partially inspired by Andy Warhol's 1960s Screen Tests. "I thought that an interesting way to see Bruno Mars, who has made himself famous through singing his songs, would be in absolute silence," says Hayes, who shot on 16 mm and Super 8. "So that maybe one could glean something that they had not seen in such a well-known performer."

He is Puerto Rican & Filipino.

Bruno Mars was born Peter Gene Hernandez on October 8, 1985, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was raised in the Waikiki neighborhood of Honolulu. He is the son of Peter Hernandez and Bernadette "Bernie" San Pedro Bayot.[8][9] His father is of half Puerto Rican and half Jewish (from Hungary and Ukraine) descent, and is originally from Brooklyn, New York.[10][11] Mars' mother immigrated to Hawaii from the Philippines as a child, and is of Filipino and some Spanish descent.[10][12][13] His parents met while performing in a show, where his mother was a hula dancer and his father played percussion.

I love everything about the cover, except for the cigarette. Cigarettes stopped being cool about the time I LOVE LUCY ended it's sixth season in 1957.

Bruno's lands another cover biggrin

EW-COVER-1260-MUSIC.jpg

This week's cover: Bruno Mars roars into summer!

Locked out of heaven? Hardly. With two platinum albums, a string of No. 1 hits, and a massive tour on the horizon, Bruno Mars is set to have one hell of a summer.

For this week’s cover story, Mars invites Entertainment Weekly into his Hollywood home for a funny and frank conversation about everything from his upcoming single (“Treasure,” which he’ll debut at this weekend’s Billboard Music Awards) to why he’s totally looking forward to getting fat one day.

“I would love to go away for a while and then be able to write a song that I feel just as strongly about as I did with ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ or ‘When I Was Your Man,’” he says of his two most recent chart-toppers, before wryly adding: “I can’t wait for the reunion tour when I’m just huge and bloated, singin’ my songs seven keys down in Palm Springs. And it’s gonna happen. [Laughs]“

Of course, before the Grammy winner suits up those Sansabelts, he’s got a few more good (skinny) high-performance years in him. So what should fans expect from his worldwide Moonshine Jungle Tour, which kicks off June 22 in Washington D.C?

“I don’t think I would feel too comfortable like, wearing a harness,” the pop juggernaut says with a laugh. “I want the music and the sound to be rockin’, more important than the visual effects and tricks or whatnot. I don’t want to get lost in that. I’ve definitely seen bands before they made money kind of change their thing on the next tour, and I prefer it when it’s a little more raw. We always change it up, you know? It’s live, and that’s a big element of the show.”

(By the way: If you guessed that his cover photo with his big-cat co-star, a black leopard named Whoopi, is a nod to Moonshine Jungle’s name, you’re correct!)

Elsewhere in the Summer Music Preview issue, you’ll find out about all the other biggest and best tours, festivals, and albums. Plus: Learn what the summer hits will be, see how Icona Pop finally popped, and dig into Daft Punk’s favorite records.

Oh, and get an inside look at the season’s hottest bromance…

For more on Bruno Mars and the summer’s other hottest acts — including a possible Kanye comeback — pick up this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, on stands Friday, May 17th.

Bruno Mars on his tour playlist: Waka Flocka, Jake Bugg, Michael Jackson and more -- EXCLUSIVE

This week’s cover star Bruno Mars is about to spend the next five months crisscrossing the globe on his massive Moonshine Jungle Tour — and man cannot live on backstage catering and laptop DVDs alone. He needs music!

We got Mars to tell us about the songs and albums that soundtrack his life on the road, and put it all in a Spotify player after the jump so you can tour the tunes for yourself.

JAKE BUGG
“He’s kind of got an Arctic Monkeys thing, who I love, but there are also some parts that remind me of Elvis. I think his song ‘Lighting Bolt’ has a very rockabilly, ‘50s like Elvis [vibe], and I like ‘Slide.’”

WAKA FLOCKA FLAME
“We’ll put on the most ratchet music you can think of backstage. ‘O Let’s Do It’ by Waka Flocka was kind of our anthem for the last tour — every night before the show it’d be that one, so we’ll probably do it again, just for comfort reasons. We’ll jump around, taking shots — ‘Alright, let’s go!’ and then the curtain opens on a bunch of 14 year old girls. [laughs]“

JACKSON 5
“There’s a lot of that backstage, too. My favorite? That’s, like, the hardest question. ‘I Wanna Be Where You Are’ is a good one. Or something from Michael’s Off The Wall album: ‘Burn This Disco Out,’ you know that one? I play that a lot at rehearsal, just jam that.”

SMOKEY ROBINSON

“For ballads, it has to be something special. I listen to a lot of Smokey, especially ’60s Smokey. So let’s go with ‘Being With You.’ That one makes me feel extra smooth.”

ALABAMA SHAKES
“I love them — ‘Hang Loose’ is my favorite. I’m from Hawaii and that’s a term I grew up with; it’s, like, the state motto. And I really like [frontwoman Brittany Howard's] voice and her delivery, especially on the verses.”

BOOKER T AND THE MG’s
“Earlier, I played ‘Green Onions’ three times in a row because I wanted to feel cool. I want that to be the soundtrack whenever I walk into a room. I want that to come on…and then immediately get into a fight by the pool table [laughs]“

Bruno really is a good looking guy. If only he would stop smoking, stop doing drugs on the side (if he didn't clean up already, not sure) and start working out, he would be amazing lol Looking forward to him on The Voice next week smile
