How would you rate Christina Aguilera as a singer?

Do you feel, as some have said, that she is the best of her generation?

Seeing her on the Stones "Shine a Light" DVD, what can I say... If Mick Jagger lets her sing with him, there must be something about her, right?! And not just her body... Tho' she looks gorgeous in that film... but what do you expect... nothing but old geezers around her... but, hey, we have Lisa Fisher in there too... Did I answer your question or only made it more: confuse

Jagger also let Taylor Swift sing with him, so...

The girl can definitely pipe. I don't like her vocal histrionics but I ain't gonna deny she's

one talented broad.

I think she has a very good voice. Better than 75% of her peers. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything from her that has moved me enough to buy any of her CDs.

Her self-titled debut, Stripped and the double Back To Basics albums were her best efforts.

I remembered Brittany Spears at one time, comparing her voice to Mariah Carey's.

Mostly this. She has a voice but uses it to it's most annoying over singing detriment. Some singers have great vocal 'taste' - her vocal tastebuds are located deep within her lower intestine.

Her voice is incredibly annoying, loud and pitchy, almost twangy. It's like a buzzing in the ear. She loves to show off, show out and never learned restaint, or the art of subtly building to a climax. It's like she's ready to start hollering by the first hook.
