Dean Martin: Born To Lose

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Prince's songs "The One U Wanna C", "when You Were Mine", and "Raspberry Beret". I'm surprised no country singers have done covers of these. The only Prince country cover song I can think of is Le Ann Rimes doing "Purple Rain".

There are lot of country covers of Prince'smusic Mitch Ryder-When U Were Mine.there is obe country version with banjo.Penny Flannigan -When U Were Mine,Gear Daddies-Little Red Corvette.

On Dump's That Skinny Motherfucker with the High Voice (a very interesting collection of covers, in my opinion) there's a country version of "An Honest Man." I like it, though I'm sure there's perfectly valid reasons to hate it.
