I get what you mean bud... but Why would someone not be when dude has not made a new album in almost 13 years? lol

And idc if D is fat either or skinny cause i'm not riding the brothas dick like questlove is lol

I am just glad he look's better than when he was drugged out.. cause then he was just a mess eek

Don't get me wrong i like D and think he is a great talent but there have been dozens and dozens of threads made about him on the org for years... and tons of speculation from quest over tons of tweets. there is still no new album lol

At least D gave us 2 classics.

I have a hunch that D´s next album is going to be another classic and worth the wait.

You do have a point regarding the decade long wait and the constant teasing with tweets and whatnot but keep in mind that EMI went downhill and this affected not only D´Angelo but also Prince´s Emancipation album back then. Contractual obligations can be pretty messy in such situations, and I´d take Questlove´s words with a grain of salt, too, but Alan Leeds is a pretty trustworthy and honest (and sometimes blunt) gentleman, very much like his younger brother Eric, and the way he explained D´s long hiatus here on the org a few years ago made a lot of sense.

By the way, I didn´t know Questlove was riding D´s dick. I really don´t think so nor do I care.

( And I´m strictly hetero, don´t let those picture I posted make you think otherwise, I´m just a very physical person and very much into health and fitness and just wanted to show you that he´s no longer in bad shape like he was a few years ago.

Like I said, your pessimism is understandable but keep in mind that he´s appeared on a bunch of songs ( Snoop, Dre, Common, plus lots of leaked songs).

Anyway, I´m pretty sure the next album is going to be an instant classic. He could just release a live DVD or CD with some new songs and I´d be happy. His last official live CD ( Live at the Jazz Café London) was a very enjoyable, albeit a tad too short album.

Let´s wait and see....good things come to those who wait.

I wish Maxwell would´ve taken a bit more time after Urban Hang Suite and Embrya...he´s lost that cohesive feel that made his first two albums timeless classics...but I digress..that´s a whole different topic.

lol dude i don't think your gay just for posting those pics wink don't worry.

And as for the ''riding his dick'' comment it's something we have joked about on the org for awhile. Mainly cause Quest has talked about D so much over the years and the way he talks about him is like the way a high school crush talks about the hot girl they fall in love with lol

But all that is just jokes and don't play into the album situation of course... but who knows D just migth suprise and actually RELEASE an album and it maybe really good.

I waited years for the last Guns N Roses album and while others were mixed i loved it lol so i know the feeling.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

was BrOoklyn Bowl at 2:30 in the afternoon. and Prince was not there ...The only people early discussing the details of the evening, were Alan leeds, Brooklyn Bowl Security, and Nelson George.

The show started 2 hours late ! Grrr Quest says "Y'all been waitin' 13 years" : / this aside the only spotting I noticed was John Lennon's son Julian.

Great show and D rocked "New Position" got lots of smiles and love from him : D

So cool to hear him play a Yamaha CP -line piano. Who does that anymore? (It's the same Prince played live around PR and also used by the likes of Peter Gabriel and Herbie Hancock).

That ASR-10 on top of it is the idiosyncratic choice. A very outmoded sampler from the first half of the 90s.

It must have had a sound he wanted across all the keys and is a trusty piece of equipment that he could use in his sleep. I didn't notice him playing back any samples.

Yeah, I thought it might be something he's used even before he got his first album out, or something like that.

Ensoniqs have pretty cool keys (touch), btw. Much better than most contemporary units.

It's noy outmoded if it still works. It's vintage.

It's definitely outmoded. Don't be silly.

It has a floppy drive and has only 2-16 mbs of memory (that's not enough for storing even one decent multisampled patch). That's like using a PC from the same era and saying it's not outmoded because it still works.

Ensoniq units become quite unreliable after some time too. I gave mine away for free a few years ago as it took ages to start up and crashed every few hours.

They're not really vintage either. You can buy old samplers from that era for peanuts.

Gonna dive into some of those clips later or in a minute. I would think us folks would be tired of bitching about this man's creative process. I'll support it, even if it is garbage. He put major work in on Voodoo and most of Brown Sugar. blahblah I wanna hear his tune about cracking up (in more ways than one) and picking up hoes. cool Not judgemental cuz I been there, minus the crack and the streetwalker thing, but shit, let the man breathe. He seems to be in a better place and thankfully not the best place. pray

He's not the only one in the industry experiencing problems getting their records done these days. Seems to be a bit of an epidemic among artists that started in the 1990s at the very least.

I think there's just something about the contemporary frame that either makes people really unsure about themselves or feel just a bit too uninspired in general. Maybe it also has something to do with declining sales due to the Internet and not feeling like the records themselves are so important anymore.

Yeah the ASR10 is old, but still nice sounding for drums but also for real keys samples and bass. Its really more than ur typical sampler like a MPC or a EMU etc.

It just has this certain sound and the internal effects were dope as well.

I remember reading that D'angelo used the asr also on his first album and still uses the effects on it.

So yeah old but still cool like any other instrument.
