Well that's a little harsh. lol To each their own. Electronic, 1999 and older.

Fair enough. Lucky I didn't post everything I'd written.

Hey, where is that house music thread of which you spoke. I've looked for it, but I don't see it.

Same bit as this thread is. Called 'Favourite house music'. wink

Ahhhh yes, good old Ninja Tune. I still have a Ninja Tune section in my vinyl collection. Too much of their 90s catalog gets dismissed because of the "acid jazz" moniker. Some of it, certainly, deserved being dismissed. But some of it was high quality, classic stuff. You posted one of them..

Up, Bustle & Out - Y Ahora Tu is a timeless jam! I was just playing that record a few weeks ago.

Swingpool was EXTREMELY popular back in the day, but it sounds dated to me now.

Have to see if I can find some Ninja Tune favorites on the Tubes...

Funki Porcini (aka James Bradell, who was 1/2 of 9 Lazy 9) released A LOT of music in a short period of time, most of which sold very well, then disappeared for a while. He (and 9 Lazy 9) have been very quietly releasing new stuff over the last few years, but it's gone (as far as I can tell) largely unnoticed. As usual, YouTube doesn't have the two tracks I want to post (I'll upload them eventually), so here's a couple others instead...

Funki Porcini - Hyde Park (1995)

Purr was a one-off side project for James Bradell, and the only reason I bought it was because I thought the packaging looked cool. lol Ahh, those were the days. I had no idea who it was and only found out later that it was the same guy who was releasing music as Funki Porcini and 9 Lazy 9. The a-side, Float On, is one long, beautiful ambient piece. There's only an excerpt of it on YouTube, though. The track below is the first on the b-side and I don't really think there's anything particularly spectacular about it. I'm just posting it because it reminded me that I used to start sets with those vocals. lol

Purr - The Sun Comes Up Inside A Big Strawberry (1995)

Disjecta nod thumbs up! The entire 'Clean Pit and Lid' album is solid. Fits in very nicely with what Aphex and u-ziq were doing around that time. I wish Sudden Squeeze was on YouTube, though. confused

Disjecta - Cheekchops (1996)

Disjecta - Is That Really It? (1996)

lol I didn't read the thread before posting.

I was searching for this:

Funki Porcini - King Ashabanapal (Plaid Mix) - http://youtu.be/YVid3GJ4d9w

Couldn't find it. I grabbed Hed Phone Sex in Sister Ray as it had a couple of versions on it. Didn't have what I was after but I loved the album.

Shiiiit! Ninja Walk is an all-time, genre defining classic.

Use Discogs, man.

It's not perfect, doesn't have every release by every artist and label, but it's pretty close.

For example, on the Luke Vibert page you can click on In Groups and Aliases to see the other work he's done (which sometimes leads to finding even more stuff not on an artist's main page). Also, when you click on an album you can then click on any of the links within it (songwriters, guest musicians, producers, designers, etc.) which leads to finding more records you'd totally forgotten about! lol Lastly, you can click on the labels and see everything (in most cases) they've ever released. I can get lost on Discogs for hours.

Fuck sake. Where's the camera then? eek lol

I had a mate over tonight. Used to go clubbin with him all the time years ago and he knew all the shit. I just used to get shit - faced and boogie.

I was talking about this thread and we started digging out old tunes. He used to spend shitloads on records before I even started mixing. So he's the man with the room full of records and the memory cells.

I ended up getting loads of my old vinyl out from boxes. He was sitting on the lappy, pissing and moaning that I should use Discogs as it's pretty good. lol

Found a few in the box:

The Martian - Stardancer - http://youtu.be/Vwgi5jlszP4

The Rising Sons - Afghan Acid - http://youtu.be/uaJqAwO0Nqs

Babies From Gong - http://youtu.be/IyTf4ZC0JA4

It's the cats, man. Always the cats.

Mike Ink is Wolfgang Voigt, he released music on Kreisel 99 series, I own 20 of the Kreisel 99 releases, one of which is a secret special song that I rarely share with people, mostly because they just don't get it. It probably belongs in the house thread, but I'm going to post it here to keep the association flow going. It's the first one...

Split Inc. (aka Wolfgang Voigt, originally released as Love Inc.) - How Deep Is Your Love (Kreisel 99/26)

Mike Ink (aka Wolfgang Voigt - Mirage (Kreisel 99/20)

Mint (aka Wolfgang Voigt) - Hindemith (Kreisel 99/22)

Jonathan Vincent "Jon" Voight (/vɔɪt/; born December 29, 1938) is an American actor. He has won one Academy Award, out of four nominations, and three Golden Globe Awards, out of nine nominations. Voight is the biological father of actress Angelina Jolie and actor James Haven. He also has no association, that is known, with Mike Ink who is actually Wolfgang Voigt, who released music on the Kreisel 99 series. Neither is said to enjoy Turnips. For they are the evil ones.

My 'Love' started out not being very deep at all. I've never heard it before. My love got deeper as I listened. I Hadn't heard that Air Liquide live bit either. Played it for about an hour. Cheers. biggrin

...good people gotta get on down now. Good people wanna get on down you better rise on up. Good people gotta rise on up now. I believe one day, we'll all stand up together like family, regardless of our color, our race, our creed, our culture, our religion, our pride. I believe that day is comin' soon. And I believe my visions comin' true. Good people standin' up together. Good people risin' up together. One nation, one culture, one people, one vibe. Brothers and sisters are standin' up together, risin' up together and tearin' down the walls. It gets ta' get so crazy sometimes, but it makes me wanna say... that I can feel the love...

Awwww. sad ....wait... do you have tits, though. Cerebus was under the impression you were the type with a penis. Seeing as how you have MAN in your name and all.

Wish I could find a picture of the Wicked net. I've never had any luck in the past, though. It's like it only exists in my acid soaked memories.
