Alicia Keys denies her homewrecker status

http://www.s2smagazine.com/stories/2012/11/alicia-keys-refutes-homewrecker-label-again

Years after she exchanged vows, Alicia Keys is still deflecting gossip that she’s the reason producer/husband Swizz Beatz split from his first wife.

They “were apart for some time before we ever got together. That doesn’t matter to those who take pleasure in trying to knock others down. There’s no need to fight what’s not true,” the singer told JETmagazine.

When they met, Swizz was married to singer and reality star Mashonda; however, that union ended and approximately a year later, Alicia and Swizz confirmed that they were romantically involved.

Though people have continually pointed the finger of blame at Alicia for allegedly breaking up his four-year marriage to Mashonda, she’s maintained that the couple was through before they fell in love.

According to Alicia, Swizz is her soul mate.

“I’d never met a person where I could be fully myself,” she said. “Swizz and I live in each other’s shadow. So, we can occupy the same space and there is nothing but equality. There’s something really powerful about that.”

I thought their paths crossed fifteen years ago, when she lost her credit card, and he found it? hmmm

Yeah....They did. Like others who have blamed Alicia for Swizz's break up, the article seems to imply that they just met, but they have known each other for years and went on to date other people; i.e. Swizz, when on and married Mashonda. To be honest, I don't know why people are so ready to blame her....People, ( including his ex) should be placing most of the blame on Swizz...He was the one that was married. He should have known better.

I was thinking for a minute as I was reading it somebody is lying, but what can I say. Kudos to them.

Well, and maybe his ex was a terrible person to live with, who knows, maybe she was the one to blame

If its not true, then why keep giving an explanation over and over again? She explained it way back when and that's when the "explaining" should have ended. She nor him owes any of us an explanation to begin with...just wished they would stop talking about it already. beatdeadhorse

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

If she is innocent in the whole situation, than why does she feel the need to keep defending herself against lies? confuse Seriously, why care what people think when you know the truth; unless, you have a guilty conscience because you did have some part in the whole breakup. She should have waited for him to be legally divorced and maybe this wouldn't be such a persistent issue in her life. She, LeAnn Rimes, and Tori Spelling all pulled this little stunt and I think all of them are trifling and cheap.

The thing of it though, we all really don't know what happened in the background.

And I notice there is always a pattern of blaming the woman or calling her trifling or cheap. The man is the one who made the commitment.

I don't know why they keep asking HER though. They should be asking HIM. Maybe she should be demanding and tell them fools to stop talking about it.

Speaks to their mindset. Instead of focusing on the music, which is the most important part, they focus on the tabloid aspect of it all. Guess drama sells.

Plus, this shit is old news.

Which would have added more fuel to the fire. People would have read into her decline, as her having something to hide. This is a case of, "damned if you do...damned if you don't".

Because information technology is a total bitch. It's been said that if you tell the perfect lie to the public long enough AND often enough, the public will come around believing the lie is true. Alicia is doing the very little she can do by defending herself.
