...And she could have declined to answer it as well.

Which would have added more fuel to the fire. People would have read into her decline, as her having something to hide. This is a case of, "damned if you do...damned if you don't".

Shit, if I was Alicia I would've told them to "fuck off".

right, and she would have been written off as rude as well

In one hand if she had told it like she told it, they would've said "you lying", if she said "fuck off", yeah she'd be rude. I guess some folks rather be rude than be perceived as a liar.

this is what mashonda said in response:

http://s2smagazine.com/stories/2012/11/mashonda-calls-out-alicia-keys

Mashonda still isn't buying Alicia Keys' denial that she was Swizz Beatz's mistress.

Earlier this week, Alicia again stated that she only got with Swizz after he left Mashonda. However, Mashonda has stated for years that Alicia was sneaking around her then-husband and even alleges to have credit card statements proving as much.

So when Alicia claimed that she's no homewrecker, Mashonda didn't have much to say. "'Adding insult to injury' This was derived from the fables of Phaedrus in the first century AD. Apparently it's still alive in 2012," Mashonda tweeted. "You can't create the truth, it's already made..."

But Mashonda may not have gotten the last word afterall as Alicia did an interview on ABC.

"He was a little over the top for me," Alicia said of her initial impression of Swizz. While discussing the development of their relationship, the reporter did not gloss over the fact that it started on very messy terms. All Alicia would say on the matter is that things are working very well between them now.

"Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

IIAGY

I'm so over this. Why are they still asking her about this B.S.

Alicia has an album coming out, I wish she would of just ignored it and paid Mashonda dust like the rest of the world did her music.

If she is innocent in the whole situation, than why does she feel the need to keep defending herself against lies? confuse Seriously, why care what people think when you know the truth; unless, you have a guilty conscience because you did have some part in the whole breakup. She should have waited for him to be legally divorced and maybe this wouldn't be such a persistent issue in her life. She, LeAnn Rimes, and Tori Spelling all pulled this little stunt and I think all of them are trifling and cheap.

The thing of it though, we all really don't know what happened in the background.

And I notice there is always a pattern of blaming the woman or calling her trifling or cheap. The man is the one who made the commitment.

The 'boys pretending to be men' are just as trifling and cheap as these homewrecking chicks are and I think they both need to be asked about their relationship until they get divorced and/or 'what goes around comes around' happens to them. At the end of the day, karma is a bitch and that's exactly what she's getting out of these interviews questioning her tainted marriage to that jackass. I don't feel sorry for anyone who does ho-ish acts and gets called out for them on a constant basis. If he wasn't legally divorced from his wife when they were hooking up, than she was his mistress which is really just a fancy word for a 'ho' so there you go. She did that to herself by allowing the relationship to move forward before the judge signed those divorce papers, so she'll be alright. hmph!

So, what your really saying is he should get away with this, scotch free? REALLY? As a man, I gotta say, that he is just as responsible for the incident,(if it happened the way it is being reported), as much as Alicia and his ex are. Swizz, is not stupid. He could have spoken up at anytime and said, "Hey, lets not do this". On the otherhand, it seems as though his ex is crying, "sour grapes". The hardest thing to do, is to admit when you fail. The easiest thing to do, is to blame someone one else when you do...This is what his ex is doing, placing blame on everyone else, except her. Relationships, don't fail overnight....it's a work in "RE-GRESS"....

I would agree with you on all this except Alicia is the one with the homewrecker status. And the woman is always the one that gets the tag.

As far as what happened between Beatz and Alicia and his ex-wife is only something the three of them can speak to. If I were Alicia, no matter how it went down, I would not say a word to the press. It's nobody's business.
