People you have no intention of getting into..

If I'm interestd in an artist I'll research them as much as possible to see how many songs they have that I like. Prince just popped into my head one day after I discovered the org and it turns out that there are a ton of Prince songs I like. I had no idea I would like so much of his music, it just happened. But there are people that I have NO intention of getting into and I refuse to look up their music because I have no desire to listen to them:

ANY rock artists/band - Rock music doesn't do it for me AT ALL.

Sade - To me she's the "smooth operator" chick and I don't even like that song.

Any Grunge band like Nirvanna or Pearl Jam - again, from what I've heard I didn't like at all

Celine Dion

Beyonce

Tyler The Creator - I'm not even sure how I even know who he is.

Drake

B.o.B

The Weekend

That's all I can think of now..

I got my first Justin Bieber single a few weeks ago. Up until then, there was no song by the Biebs that I liked. So, I never say never, if I can help it. There are lots of artists I have never heard. If I happen to one day come across one of them and I hear something I like, I will go searching to buy it. The same for artists I have heard of, but still don't own anything by them. I just have to hear something I like by someone and I go investigating their work a little to see if there is anything else I might like. The list is too long of artists I don't have songs by. However, I could gradually be adding a song or two of theirs to my library as time goes on if I happen to hear something I like. Time is of the essence.

I'm like meh when it comes to Bruno. I'm super late with current artists, so I didn't realize how popular he was until a few months ago. I didn't realize that it was him singing the chorus in "Beautiful Girls" (which I hate) lol. The only other song from him I've heard is "It Will Rain" and I like that song. But I don't see myself researching his music anymore, because most likely I won't like it. lol

The Beatles (i know its blasphemy to some, but they sound soooo overrated to me from the handful of singles i've heard against my will)

Bowie (too much, not sure where to start. took some advice and listend to Station to Station, the single, and took an "L" on that one)

Coldplay (when I found out Clocks WASN'T a U2 song, i was like WTF!!)

Dylan (his bugs bunny voice irks me, i'll just believe secondhand that he's a great songwriter)

Adele (its the anti-bandwagoner in me)

BeYAWNce, Rihanna, Katy Perry (I know I need an island to move to avoid their ubiquity but I try)

Fiona Apple - (ok, i'm actually TRYING to make it through the debut cd after hearing such raves, so far.....SMH)

there are lots of others but i'll stop here for now

Chris Martin has been trying to jack U2 & Radiohead like a hungry peasant lol but i still like some of there stuff but see why people can dislike them.

As a huge Dylan nerd.. i can respect when people don't dig his voice but just admire his songwriting.

And yes i adore some of the covers that have been done of Dylan songs cool

I remember you, you're the guy who ignored Bowie just because Station to Station was too long and experimental, or something like that

I still see you're mad, don't change hug

Elvis Costello..

I Tried so hard getting into him he's one of those critical darlings of the 80's. His music is just meh to me. He is talented but imo as overrated as the grateful dead razz

Dude is another great songwriter I just can't get into his voice. eek He wrote a beautiful song The Comedian on Roy Orbison last CD:

His TV show Spectacle was great when he wasn't singing. razz
