First of all, I'm not even a big Madge fan. What I have a problem with is the way older women are viewed in society.

Also, I see none of these negative comments on 64 yo Grace Jones' thread when she is running around half naked. She has certainly shown her share of body parts well into her older years. Not comparing their talents, just the 'female' aspect. What is the difference?

The ‘beauty norm’ is the double standard… older male rock Gods (and other celebrities) are allowed to be unattractive, not show their ‘saggy, pancake’ balls, and still be considered sexy…women aren’t.

Men have a more diverse range of images that qualify as good-looking (and even if they’re overweight, bald, and wrinkly, they are still sexy, cute, distinguished, hot, etc.) and women are required to stuff themselves into a super skinny and narrow box of accepted ideal beauty. God knows if Madonna gained 20 lb. she’d be trashed even more.

Also yes, Grace Jones also walks half naked on stage, haven't seen negative reactions on that... and Grace is even older. I love Grace very much tho. and I think her figure is still amazing.

I do hear people say male artists are too old to perform and do certain things on stage or in their work, but way more less than with female artists. It's stupid....
