You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Hmm, you sure? I could've sworn Wink was around Chubby too. If that's the case, then it's Conway then.

Yep, it's Conway. I think the photo was from some show around 1960 or 1961. Back then they had the package concerts with different acts doing 2 or 3 songs.

Identity

He was a progressive, an innovator, a self-made man and producer who left his hand print on the 20th century. More importantly, he made watching TV on Saturday afternoons special. Rest in peace, Mr. Clark.

Berry Gordy: "Dick and I were friends for over 50 years. If it were not for Dick Clark, I do not believe Motown would have been the company it was. He did everything with class, style and integrity. If he gave you his word, you could count on it.''

Madonna Bids Farewell To Dick Clark
Link

April 18, 2012

Madonna doesn't have a Twitter account, so she hasn't tweeted out her feelings about the passing of Dick Clark, but she's paid tribute to the entertainment legend on her official website and her Facebook page by posting her infamous 1984 appearance on his show, American Bandstand.

On that appearance, Madonna, in her full '80s regalia, spoke about her career beginnings with Clark. When he asked her if she was "the least bit scared" to strike out on her own as a pop star, Madonna answered, "No, I think I've always had a lot of confidence in myself." And when Clark asked what her hopes and dreams were, Madonna uttered one of her most famous quotes, "To rule the world!"

Accompanying the video on her Facebook page, Madonna has written, "Rest in peace. You will be missed."
