Yeah, but any number of Biggie/Tupac fans and devotees could do so as well. I'd say it's probably MORE offensive to the Biggie/Tupac followers than if they had been alive and could speak for themselves.

I don't see the problem with it. Freedom of speech and all that.

Household name? I never heard of him until this thread.

Household name is a strech, but my point is that creating outrageous album covers/titles both Lil B and Asaad have gotten there name to countless people who would otherwise never hear of them.

That's probably where that phrase originated from. From their old prison days. lol

nod

And I would never argue his right to do this, the first amendment doesn't prevent anybody from being critical of someone's free speech.

If they got the right to "express", we got a right to be critical. All is fair in love and war. nod

lol Oh Brother! touched

Well, if I were a young rapper, and wanted to make sure that I got the most attention possible from a single cover, THIS would be the cover I'd use. Kanye's probably mad he didn't think of it first, lol.

To me, this is simply hilarious (...but I stopped taking rappers seriously a long time ago). Rap fans getting mad over this cover reminds me of Muslims getting mad over the cartoon of Muhammad with a bomb in his turban. They're public figures, and it's just a cartoon. But now a cartoon of Biggie's and 2Pac's MOMs in the same situation; I would find offensive. But Asaad's mixtape cover in my opinion is just child's play.

With all due respect, that analogy is off base, PDogz. Disrespecting some rappers is not the same as disrespecting a religous symbol. Granted, I get what you're trying to say, but the two things are radically different.

I respect your argument, sincerely.

Although as far as analogies go, I think; a Rap Star is to his fans, as a Religious Leader is to his flock, is still a valid one. Just like; Fire is to burning, as Water is to soaking, would be another valid analogy, yet it could be argued that the two things (Fire and Water) are radically different.

So, while I'm clearly defending my analogy, I completely agree that a rapper and a religious figure are radically different, nevertheless appreciate that you get what I'm saying.

I have no problem with the cover art itself, albei it is a bit disrespectful, but I find his reasoning a bit off. So because the industry screwed and still is screwing rappers over he is using an image of Pac and Biggie screwing each other? lol WTF?

What´s that got to do with artist being screwed over by the industry?

That album cover looks horrible, by the way. Just horrible. Like some old videogame screen cap from the mid 90s.
