lol that part in the mini series had ohgoon I feel like Otis already gave his side of the story in the movie, I was tired of him. Dennis was a replacement, but I was surprised that Dennis got that call. dennis was making more sense than Otis, but they needed someone around from the beginning. Too bad David, Paul, Eddie, and Melvin are gone.

When I first saw Otis, I thought, what the hell does he have on? I guess we just got stuck with him.

Dennis made more sense than Otis because Dennis sounded a whole hell of a lot more SINCERE than Otis did. Also you can tell that Dennis really KNEW David on a more personal basis aside from just being groupmates. I don't think (and it's obvious) that Otis never really took the time to get to know Ruffin at all. All the times I've heard Otis talk about David, its almost as if he still has a chip on his shoulder for the guy. I'm sure David didn't care for Otis just as much as Otis didn't care for David. Eddie wasn't too keen on Otis either, especially when he started messing with Paul and threatening to fire him.

Lawd wouldn't it had been something else if Eddie, Melvin and Paul were still alive to give their opinions? I bet it would had been very interesting.

[Edited 3/6/12 10:20am]

Yes, we'd get the whole story for sure if the other members were alive. Otis has had his say, and his view is tainted. We get it. Dennis seemed genuinely hurt, and still disturbed over that call, and the way the death happened.

Do you think David maybe wanted or tried to attend Tammi's funeral? I'm pretty sure the family most likely didn't want him there.

Yeah I believe so but the Montgomery family only trusted MARVIN to be there...

Oh yeah that's right. Out of the whole Motown camp they only let Marvin come. I forgot that they said that on Tammi's Unsung epi.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

According to Tony Turner (lol), when the surviving Tempts got together to do "My Girl", Ollie and Dennis competed for the lead and Dennis out-sung Ollie. Glad we have video to prove that. lol

Thanks, Hump,I was just coming in here to thwart some of the Otis hate. lol Dude COULD sing and DID song on Temps songs (just not any of their hits). As for as the Temps mini-series/ movie falloff good lord it's Hollywood! When is any biopic 100 accurate? It has to be (1) editted the fuck down and (2) is always an interpretation of events. It wasn't a documentary, for Lion-o's sake, and even if it was every small detail isn't worth mentioning. lol

It was a good episode. Dude had a lot of issues that unfortunately became

his undoing. Hope one on Eddie Kendricks is lurking soon. David was very talented

but as his star got bigger drugs, arrogance, and crabs in a barrel(freinds) bought him down.

Otis may have become a bit of a control freak (after all he was the rock of the group) later

on during their heyday but he and the group had no choice but to kick Mr. Ruffin out the

group.

I think so. I could've sworn several years ago I was on a Tempts fan site and they mentioned that he had released an album online... I didn't buy it or check it out so I don't know how good he is.

I liked the episode but to do an Unsung on David Ruffin deserves more than one hour. I cant believe he came from a town called 'WhyNot, Mississippi'.

Why didnt they interview his brother Jimmy Ruffin? Who certainly could have gave more insight in David's upbringing.

What about Berry Gordy? or Dean Martin's daughter Barbara? I know Berry Gordy turned TvOne downed.

Why omit Michael Jackson paid for his funeral?

Did he lieave a will was there an estate? I know dumb question

Why come there hasnt been a thread about who was the best lead Temptations singer Dennis Edwards or David Ruffin?

I still dont believe he died in the hospital I believe he died in a crackhouse and his body was dumped in front of the hospital.

David Ruffin Jr. -->>>HOT
