I'm excited, though I'm worried they will be on sale before the album is actually out. If I don't like the album and she performs most of it, I may feel cheated, especially if she remixes the older songs again, I didn't like that too much at the Sticky & Sweet tour. I'm also seeing MJ's Cirque Du Soilel again so I'm going to have to either give one up or go to both (I spent too much money on shows last year and promised to limit it to one but now I can't), and I know it's easy to say skip Cirque since I already went before, but I desperately need an MJ fix though I feel I'm being tested too. Madonna's team is too damn smart for selling her tickets this week and next week. [Edited 2/7/12 1:20am]

And the only England show is going to be Hyde Park?!!
That's a drag....I was hoping for the O2 or somewhere that I could get a front row ticket. This was going to be the Madonna show I was going to push the boat out and get down the front and now its going to be a mad scramble in a field basically www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

For the Sticky and Sweet tour,I was in the $150 section and it was fine.I had a great view. You really don't have to pay $355.

Ok....just been on Ticketmaster UK website. They had Hyde Park tickets on "presale" if you have a "Legacy" password. Not sure what that means, presume its something to do with the official Madonna website. Don't know if that guarantees you a ticket either, lady on the phone with Ticketmaster said she wasn't sure.
For Hyde Park there's Gold Circle which is at the front by the stage for £137 (plus Ticketmasters usual take the p*ss "processing" fees!!) or general admission / standing for £77 which is for the rest of the venue which will basically be a free for all / get there damn early if you want to get anywhere near the front. Tickets go on general sale at 9:00am Friday!!!
Hate having to wait to see if I get lucky with the tickets I'm after, its such a lottery!
I'm tempted to go Gold Circle so that I'm with some proper fans. I'm fed up of going to Madonna gigs and being sat / stood next to casual fans or people who have just gone along so they can say they've seen Madonna! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

The Icon Pass for access to tickets is £15 through Madonna's website...Ticketmaster are saying that it will give you access to tickets from 12.00 today (plus you get something like a free tour poster or something). On top of the £137 for the gold circle tickets (plus £15 worth of Ticketmaster fees no doubt!) Im not sure I'm willing to pay that.
Anyone been to a gig at Hyde Park and know whether the Gold Circle is worth it? www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
The advantage of the gold circle is that you don't have to que up all day to get a good view, you just go into the front area.
Don't know which to go for, London or Edinburgh. 3121... Don't U Wanna Come?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Thought that would be the deal...but I guess you still have to shuffle about in the Gold Circle to get to the front, and its like twice the price!!
We did Foos at Milton Keynes Bowl last year and we got a pretty good view even though we went in the equivalent of the Gold Circle. I think we might be able to squeeze down close-ish with General Admission tickets. My only concern is being stuck next to a load of boring old farts who arent dancing for the show!!
Damn Madge, why couldnt you have done an arena in the UK!?! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Madonna Announces 2012 World Tour DatesThe queen of pop will kick off a 50-plus-date trek on May 29 in Tel Aviv, Israel and perform in Australia for the first time in 20 years.Fresh of her halftime performance at Super Bowl XLVI (which was viewed by a record 114 million people) comes details of the Madonna 2012 World Tour. The trek will begin May 29 in Tel Aviv, Israel, and will be her most extensive tour ever in terms of number of dates, according to Arthur Fogel, CEO of Live Nation Global Touring, worldwide producers of the tour. The tour will take Madonna to Australia for the first time in 20 years, as well as many markets she has never played before. This will be Madonna's fifth tour with Fogel and Live Nation, and second under her long-term multi-rights deal with the promoter. Her last tour, 2008-2009's Sticky & Sweet, grossed $408 million according to Billboard Boxscore, the highest ever for a solo artist and third-highest of all time. Prior to that, Madonna's 2006 Confessions Tour grossed $194 million, according to Boxscore, then the highest ever for a female artist. The 2012 tour will follow the release of Madonna's new album MDNA, due March 26 on Live Nation Entertainment/Interscope Records, which creates myriad cross-promotional opportunities, according to Fogel. Having the recording and touring (not to mention merchandising and other rights) under one umbrella "gives you the freedom to line up all the different elements to sell tickets and to sell records," he says. "It's as great a set-up as you could have. If this doesn't work, I'm going into plumbing." TiVo: Madonna's Halftime Show More Popular Than Super Bowl Football Game The tour will play arenas, stadiums and unique outdoor sights, including the Plains of Abraham in Quebec. Fogel tells Billboard.com that production for the tour is in the conceptual stages, but did say, "it will be big and can get bigger," depending on the venue. The tour will play 26 European markets, including London, Paris, Milan and Berlin, before hitting North American shores beginning Aug. 28 in Philadelphia. Twenty-six shows are planned for North America, including a Sept. 6 show at New York's Yankee Stadium, and an Oct. l0 performance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale beginning Feb. 10 in Tel Aviv and the U.K., with North American tickets going on sale beginning Feb. 13. Tickets for North America are available at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com. Madonna will play North America until just before Thanksgiving, then head to Latin America to tour until the holidays, then wrap the tour in Australia in early 2013, Fogel says. The entire tour will end up with close to 90 shows, which would be the most ever for Madonna; Sticky & Sweet ended up with 85 dates. STORY: Madonna's Music Sales Boosted by Super Bowl Performance When all is said and done, the upcoming tour will be one of the highest-grossing treks in history, potentially giving her two tours in the top five all time. Fogel says ticket scaling will be "almost identical" to Sticky & Sweet, though venue capacities will vary. While there are "certain variables" that come with routing a Madonna tour, Fogel says planning begins with the amount of time the artist makes available for touring and then producers using that time to maximum effect. "There's basically an established window and we need to fit into that window whatever we can that makes sense logistically," he says. "Of the shows we're doing, I'd say 25%-30% will be markets she's never played before. There's still a few left. We'll get to these markets where she's never been, some exciting new places, and get back to Australia after too long a time." While Madonna's first headlining tour was in 1985, the upcoming run will only be her ninth. Sticky & Sweet was a monster by any measure, and included some blockbuster dates in a wide range of territories, 32 countries in all. Madonna sold 650,000 tickets in South America, 72,000 tickets at Zurich's Dübendorf Airfield -- the largest attended concert ever in Switzerland -- 75,000 tickets in London, and four sellouts at New York's Madison Square Garden that sold 60,364 tickets. That tour wrapped where the next one begins, Tel Aviv. VIDEO: Super Bowl 2012: Madonna's Halftime Performance As a touring artist, Madonna is relatively "fresh" compared to some artists with similar career longevity. "When I started working with her on the 2001 tour, she hadn't toured since the early '90s," Fogel points out. "The last tour was her biggest tour ever, it propelled her into the top-grossing tours of all time and was the top tour ever by a solo artist, and that was 25 years into her career. Whatever there is to be said, the facts speak for themselves: she's never been bigger, and she's a great performer with a great catalog and a great new record. She's one of those iconic legends at the top of her game." Over the past decade, Madonna tours have moved into that elite status of the "event" tour, where the tour itself becomes a cultural touch point. And while there are other acts that are hugely popular on a global scale (Fogel works with a couple of them, including U2 and Lady Gaga) a Madonna tour remains a unique animal in terms of striking a chord with a passionate fan base and generating media coverage. "There are people out there who always want to set it up as her against other artists that have emerged, but the truth is they're all unique and great and have their space in the hearts and minds of fans," Fogel says. "I don't even think about that stuff, it's irrelevant." In addition to her Super Bowl performance, the last week also saw the release of Madonna's new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin." According to today's announcement, pre-orders for MDNA have already catapulted the record to No. 1 on iTunes in 51 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Spain, Canada, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands. I went to see Sticky & Sweet at Wembley Stadium during the first leg of that tour...I enjoyed it 'cos it was a Madonna show, but I've gotta be honest, the sound was pretty bad and we were right at the back so the view was rubbish.
As a show it was ten times better when we saw it the following year at the O2 Arena. Wembley and alot of other stadiums are so cavernous its almost impossible to fill them and make everyone feel like they're part of the show. Even more so when its someone like Madonna who relies on the visual aspect. www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

The majority of her tours, expecially her early ones, were stadium tours 87-93. It was only the Drowned World and Re-Invention that were pure arena tours. Atmosphere in a stadium is incredible. 3121... Don't U Wanna Come?

That's a good point, I didn't really look at it like that thinking back at her older tours. I kind of agree with the stadium atmosphere thing, I've been to some good stadium shows before (Foos at Wembley in 2008 was particularly special)....but the bigger the shows the bigger number of casual fans or "bemused onlookers" you get going, who just want to see what all the Madonna fuss is about or just tick her off their list of must-see-artists. There's nothing worse than going to a show and being stuck next to people who aren't fans. I just hope I can find somegood people to stand with for Hyde Park! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!
